"On the Job" Story Event 2022

I don't know what's going on here, I submitted an edited version of a story that needed some correction on May 4th, it's STILL sitting in pending. I've reached out to several people, no response.

Edits are low priority and sometimes takes weeks to happen.

Or they could happen only once or twice a month. Just like Illustrated stories, which usually get posted just once a month in a single batch.

Then I suggest that they change the FAQ, because it clearly states:

Edited stories take up to 48 hours to appear correctly on the site as the pages must be regenerated by the site scripts. If after 48 hours your submission edits are still not showing, please email us a link to the work in question. (FAQ)

An author can clearly get the false impression that corrections are a priority and when the changes don't appear as promised and their email gets ignored it's not unreasonable to falsely conclude that the site mods have an issue with the authors request. I know it's caused me some confusion, and worry that my future works will be put on ignore too.

I think I post an edited story about once or twice per year. It seems to take about ten days to two weeks to show up. I haven't really timed it, so that is just an impression.

The site obviously doesn't have the staff to handle the volume of submissions, and it never will. Lit's business model must be from selling stuff; the stories are a come-on to get customers. Not that I'm complaining; they publish my stuff, so I'm happy with them.

I quite agree, I'm overjoyed to find a place to dump my mental baggage, but I think a rewrite of that FAQ is in order, and I'd be happy to do it. I've been lurking here for a long time and if they need help I'd be glad to pitch in

You could ask them, I guess. I really don't know what goes on behind the scenes here. If it is truly just Laurel and Manu, I've never seen them reach out for help. There is another site that seems to have a number of volunteer moderators, so maybe those people did offer their services.
