Good people of Smutland! Now that it's possible to publish curated lists of stories, it would be interesting to gather some kind of meta list, catalogue of sorts, of curated lists. I assume the site will eventually add some functionality to this effect, but until then, how about we make our own?

If you host a curated list or lists and want to be added to this list, post on the thread. I'll add them to this original post for easy browsing. I thought it might be best to link to the author profile instead of individual lists, so include some kind of description of what kind of lists you host. (@THBGato , I took the liberty of including you, I hope you don't mind.)

I wanted to bump this thread as I can't believe no one wants to contribute to this. No promoting other people's stories, eh?

The only list I have public is of stories NecessaryDeviance and I have reviewed on our podcast and have released the episode for. (Authors have been notified of such, albeit after the fact for these four because I thought he was notifying them and he thought I was.)

There's a grand total of four, lol.

The other lists I won't publicize.

But there is a "Fucking Amazing" and an "Amazing fucking" list in addition to "I was forced to read these" and "I'm forcing Grim to read these" lists.

I might curate an erotic horror list on my upcoming vacation, though.

I hear you. And add to that, why would I give myself one more thing to avoid actually, you know, writing stories?

It's a good idea, but I'd have to get off my butt and create more worthwhile lists before contributing to the project.

I have never once promoted, or even mentioned the name of one of my own stories, on any thread. I have however mentioned other writers stories I have admired, and do it happily.
There are other reasons for not wanting to participate, and yes they are personal.

No need to shame people.

Some of us just aren't into lists. It's not some sort of big thing. The site has all sorts of functions I'm just not interested in using; this is another one.

I don't think we need to inquire deeply into why this thread hasn't seen more people volunteering their lists. Certainly I don't think it's productive to read anything about an author character or morals from their lists or lack thereof. It's a new feature. Give it some time to catch on.

By the way, you can totally add your own stories to a list. I know some authors use series to group works that are related thematically rather than chronology, e.g., here are my strokers, here are my slow burns, etc. Lists night be another way to do that.
