List of story lists aka The Literotica Index

OK. I researched this, and it still makes

Well, I researched this and it still makes little sense to me. One of the things I got was:

So it's, maybe suggesting that my wish to use my own verbiage to label my list is somehow engaging in a group squabble????? Stretching a bit aren't we?

Nobody is accusing you of squabbling. AwkwardMD is, I think, making a light-hearted, gentle poke at your desire to categorize things. It's a totally understandable desire (I like sorting things out, myself), but in the context of short stories it leads to a lot of hair splitting, which can be humorous.

"This is the society for male surrender with acceptance!"

"No it's not! This is the society for accepting males who surrender!"

Wow. Ok, this has been weird! I've got a list of long, 8+ page stories, and just now I've put together a list of a few stories I consider influential, to me at least.

AG31 - dignified male surrender, visceral authenticity
I see you've changed the label for my "surrender" list, but still not to what I asked for. Now you've got "dignified male surrender" instead of your earlier "dignified male subs," but the point is that I want my description. I want "Male surrender with self acceptance." It may not make sense to you, but that shouldn't be the point.

And you did it again with my second list. I call it "Stories that exhibit authenticity." You call it "visceral authenticity." That is inaccurate. Again, you don't have to understand. Just please be respectful of my choices.

I've made my 3rd, and probably last list public. It's called Simple Erotica.

Might this have gotten lost in the holiday shuffle? Maybe I should have explicitly asked that it be added to your index?

From Dec 22

Changed your entry to "simple erotica and other lists"

@Omenainen, could you explain the philosphy that guides your management of this service you're providing? You've stated that the lists don't need to be objective, that there are no common criteria. So it seems that the lists here are purely personal for the owners. What principle do you follow when you substitute your own descriptions for the ones submitted by the list's owner?

My idea is to give some kind of summary of what kind of lists the person hosts, not list every list in detail. I guess at some point the site will publish some kind of a catalog of public lists, where then the list title and blurb are shown, but as we know changes are slow in coming and meanwhile I wanted to put together some sort of an index of who is even hosting lists. Interested people can then wade deeper to see the actual lists.

OK, then I'll publish my preferred descriptions here.

The reason being that over the last few years I've confirmed my suspicion that I'm a rare bird as far as tastes in erotica go, and I delight in finding like minded people. I thought your list of lists would be a great boon to my search. But it was not to be. Thankfully, threads are structured so that I can publish my preferred descriptions here.

My lists:
Male Surrender with Self Acceptance, Stories that Exhibit Authenticity, and Simple Erotica

Good people of Smutland! Now that it's possible to publish curated lists of stories, it would be interesting to gather some kind of meta list, catalogue of sorts, of curated lists. I assume the site will eventually add some functionality to this effect, but until then, how about we make our own?

If you host a curated list or lists and want to be added to this list, post on the thread. I'll add them to this original post for easy browsing. I thought it might be best to link to the author profile instead of individual lists, so include some kind of description of what kind of lists you host. (@THBGato , I took the liberty of including you, I hope you don't mind.)

AG31 - simple erotica and other lists
AlinaX - aspec, futa
AwkwardApple415 - non-fetishizing representation of trans characters
AwkwardlySet - long femdom stories
djrip - long stories
Lifestyle66 - assorted Loving Wives stories
Omenainen - Pink Orchids
THBGato - various lists of lesbian stories
yowser - recommended reads lists, bi-list
Thanks to @yowser for including Me and My Penis in one of his lists. Thanks to @femihussy for writing it, and thanks to @Omenainen for creating this index of lists. I never would have found it otherwise. It's an essay rather than a story.

Unfotunately it wasn't possible for me to add another comment to the story.

I think the recent list drama has significantly reduced the interest in lists. I'd forgotten completely about this thread listing lists.
Agree, but don't care, lol.

Lists that aren't meant to pit authors against each other can be a fair resource for finding stuff to read. I have absolutely started using this list of lists (and favorites of my favorite authors) as a resource to search out stories to read and review on the podcast.

Side note - I try to find stories I think overlap my interests and Grim's so the reviews stay positive. One of us might be disappointed in aspects of a particular story, but overall every review we do is one where at least one of us really enjoyed the story.

But that also means we have a couple of reviews that will never see the light of day 'cause I absolutely hated them and we got heated in our discussion (namely, he got upset that I didn't love his favorite stories, lol.)

ElectricBlue is a pantser. I imagine he would say you should go to the store without a list and buy whatever suits your fancy in the moment.
Actually, food shopping is one of the very few times I do in fact write a list, so that when we need bread and milk, I actually come back with it. Rather than something we didn't need at all.

Added to the list.

Isn’t that a bit of an overreaction? Should we stop writing shopping lists too, to support the cause? 😄
There's a clerk at our local TJ's who collects shopping lists. I save mine for her. Not necessarily to the point, but a fun fact - at least for me.

I was moved to add a story to a couple of my lists. It had been so long since I thought about lists (I thought) that it took some work to figure out how to add them. Turns out this thread was started less than a year ago. Anyway, I'm bumping to invite people who haven't seen it to add their lists to the list of lists. I encourage you to be specific in their descriptions so we don't have to go to your story-side profile and find your lists. Don't forget to make them public.

Today I added stories to Male Surrender with Self Acceptance and Simple Erotica.

"A strong man surrenders with dignity. It doesn't much matter to whom or what he surrenders."
"Erotica written without a focus on plot or character, but with a focus on compelling writing."

As long as I'm here, I'll mention my third list, Stories that Exhibit Authenticity.
"Authenticity has a particular meaning as it is used in this list. It seems as if the author write from the viscera. See this post: https://forum.literotica.com/threads/authenticity-revisited.1601329/"

Those links go to my CP, not yours, but of course there's nothing there, coz they're not my lists. You need to find the url when the list is open, and post that.

Oh dear. It's the use of "my" in the URL. How can I get a URL that works for everyone? I did take the URL when the list was open.
