Virtual Literotica Convention 2025 Author Challenge Official Support Thread

Now that I think about it, the link showed up blue in the preview page, so I did do it right!

But yeah, you make a damn good point! I was essentially going to credit it twice and be distracting lol!

One thing I've learnt in this is that a link will show up in blue even if leads to a 'page not found' error!

The one time I had such an error was because I accepted my proof reader's change to a link that I had put in using Word and there must have been a glitch in their HTML making it appear to be offsite / invalid. So I just went back to Word! Lazy - possibly - but HTML is far to modern for me! ;) 😁

I had no problems including links. But I didn't put them in a dialog.

You need to be aware that the A tag contains quotes. href="https://..." so on a technical level you terminante your dialog with href= and continue the text without a blank and the text https. I presume the code checking dialog formatting is not programmed to deal with embedded html.

Well, Part 3 is still pending, guess there's still a chance they could take it. I took that entire line of dialogue out. It was basically "We wrote about our experience in '-insert hyperlink to story here-'!" Looking back on it, it was unnecessary in all honesty, but you live and learn!

Yes!! Part 3 cleared this time and drops tomorrow!

And I'm close to finishing Part 4 as well, hopefully that one will drop before the 16th. This is the most challenging one yet, it features a ten person orgy, and only three of them are my own characters! I've got a good beat on it though so look forward to that!

My latest just published in Loving Wives seven hours ago:
"Convention Pt. 02: Star of the Show"
"Elevator fun, and more desires are revealed."

It already has over 1.2K views! But it's at 1.71 with 24 votes! It's about a monogamous couple. But they must really HATE-HATE-HATE the husband's pokes at the cuck haters. This might end up close to one of my lowest rated ever!

EDIT (story excerpt): "I don't define my masculinity based on YOUR pussy or what you put in it! Only a guy who thinks like a douche would define himself that way, worrying his wife might prefer a different douche!"

Mine has taken a rating bomb. 2/2 currently, it was 1/1 this morning. While I'm proud of what I wrote and stand by it, it is kind of disappointing.

Damn! Loving Wives is a hostile category in general, but yikes!

Edit: I went on a mild rant about the people who bomb LW stories but removed it. In summary, LW stories hit close to come for me because of a betrayal in my own life, and those people might have had the same happen. But that's still no excuse for behaving the way they do online or bombing the ratings of someone's hard work.

I hope your rating goes up!

I'm fairly certain I know what kind of people you're referring to, who bomb LW stories. Personally, LW stories hit too close to home for me. I'm not looking for sympathy, but I've always had extraordinary difficulty getting women to reciprocate my feelings/attraction, and the only woman who truly did betrayed my trust, I caught her with a guy 8 years younger than I am. I gave up after that, couldn't take another heartbreak like that.

That being said, I feel like the people who do this on LW stories have been in similar situations (I'm guessing), but that is still no excuse to troll people online or bomb the ratings of someone's hard work. Just steer clear of LW and find something productive to do! It's why I write, just because I'm unsuccessful (and may always be) in one aspect of my life, it doesn't mean I have to be a failure in every aspect! Attacking people/stories about something you hate is a waste of time/life!

Sorry that turned into a mild rant, but those people get under my skin. I hope your rating goes up!
My story is currently at 2.29 with 48votes and 2.5K views.

My lowest rated story "Pavlov's Dog - 750 Words" is at 2.29 with 783 votes and over 16k views! (And that's after over one year of 1-scraping!)

I don't need the approval of an anonymous reader to enjoy writing my stories. And sometimes I merely write to piss them off anyway, knowing they're going to hate it. So, I have my fun enjoying their reactions, even when it makes their heads explode.

Exactly, write what you want and have fun with it!

Lol, I literally just finished editing and removing my rant about it, I regretted sharing that detail about my life. Too late now! šŸ˜…

Hi all.

So I have been asked by Emily Miller to make a public declaration that she is NOT allowing other writers the use of her characters, especially her characters "Emily" and "Amy" as featured in many of her stories.

She is currently on hiatus but has had several requests by writers here to use her characters for this event.

While she is flattered, and appreciates that you enjoy her work, she respectfully is declining all requests.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter and for respecting her wishes.

I will probably post this in all threads related to the event to make sure it has been seen.

This was a tough one... way beyond my comfort zone and usual writing style. I don't know how many rough drafts and story ideas I have scrapped before getting something published.
My story Two Rebels, One Spark is up. I had some grand ideas about using multiple characters and making a long story to cover three-day convention. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get there.
Thank you @Actingup for allowing me to use your character Fatemah. Also, Hiraya plays the key role in this story.

@Andreas_Kreuz Damn... the location was a mistake. I have scrapped so many drafts that somewhere along the lines I lost the track of the city
As for Lit Con 2025, all Literotica events ask for the keywords in Admin fields only. I rarely use event keyword as tag.

I just submitted a story The Aureur. I thought I was going to miss this altogether because I was damned and determined to finish my ongoing series first, which I submitted yesterday. Given the short time frame, I borrowed my own characters instead of having the time to find others.

Ut I am happy with the result. I hope people enjoy it. I suspect it will be different from most of the stories.

You can submit an edited version (you need to add a small change to the title, such as a 1) with notes to admin that it is a relacement for the original and to keep the original name. It might not make it before the 16th but will get it in the list of stories and be there for posterity.

Why? The admin note was there. This story would make it to the list when its published... as for the city mismatch... There would be too many edits... I would rather not do it. Also the edits take more than a week at least.

Fair enough. I only said it could be done, not that it had to be. As post publication edits are not a simple matter here, some people believe it is not possible.

Good on you for persisting, @sinfantasy - sometimes you just need to push through! Fatemah was a little surprised to find herself as an Iranian rather than Saudi Arabian, but perhaps that’s her cover story?

This convention is a learning event for all of us. It turns out that it’s quite challenging to have multiple characters from different authors (with very different styles) vaguely coordinated - who knew? But I’m very glad that the event is on and we’re giving it a go.

Here here! 😁

This was and still is an interesting and challenging challenge! I say "is" because I still have three more parts to submit, which will obviously be after Friday at this point. It has been tough, a lot tougher than I imagined it would be, and even exhausting at times. But I am too invested to stop now!

That being said, once Part 6 of my story is posted, I'm taking a writing break, I need one. I have a small extension of the story @Andreas_Kreuz submitted, "Hotel Roissy 2A - Experiment", which is part of a collab with him. That makes seven stories.. I'm going to be tired when I'm finished... 😓

I haven't had a lot of time to read most of the stories (I will), but based on what I have, everyone has their own unique takes on the characters from other works and yet they are also faithful to the original authors' intentions. It's a beautiful thing really.

Another error while I started a story on different plots and scrapping previous works... I think it all got jumbled up when I tried get poetic and cultural references.

Also this story was supposed to evolve deeper with Bella the dominatrix, mirror twins, and Freya and team getting involved.

At some point I realized I did not had enough time (and enough skills or clarity of thought to pull it through.) The whole convention was a missed opportunity not fully explored :(

Yah... I understand. There are always things to edited or improved and the new learning's. My obsession will not let me rest till I CORRECT the story all the way through and well.... it all gets messy.

So, I prefer not to look at the stuff that's already published. One its done, then let it be as it is.

Not to mention my experience with my first story. There was a major issue with ending... I submitted the edit on very first day but it took almost a month for it to show up. That story took quite a beating in L/W for a month.

I get that. I've had to scrap certain ideas of my own. But your finished product is doing quite well from what I can see, 4.78 rating at the time of this post and even has the red H! You have plenty to be proud of!

It's been said before, but this has been a learning experience for all of us. Mistakes (I've made quite a few myself) and scrapped ideas aside, we will all be better writers because of this.
