They have been for a long time. They took over public education in the 1890's through the teachers union. Teddy Roosvelt was the first. It goes back that far.

By stealing money from people who produce and giving that same money to sit on their asses created a whole underclass of poor. Theft never works, no matter if a thief goes into your house or if the government does it with laws. Who encouraged all this....MARXISTS.
