1942. Camus' "The Myth of Sisyphus." One of the most important essays for me, it talks about taking joy in existing, apart from anything else. It focuses upon Sisyphus choosing, every time, to take up his rock again, knowing it will fall, but making that choice. The full line translates to "The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man's heart; one must imagine Sisyphus happy."

I have long thought there isn’t something I like so much, that I want to see it on my body 5, 10, 20 years from now. But statistically speaking, at 58, I won’t make it another 20 years anyway.
Okay, being more serious. Seeing these posts, I was thinking is there something I really would want on me? And I realize I should actually tattoo something I need to remind myself. Something I say to myself when I feel a bit low, and need to be reminded of how far I have come. Something like “Brenda kicks ass!!”.
But it needs to be a place for me to see. It isn’t about someone else, it isn’t meant for anyone else. It matters to me, to remind me, when I feel low…. So where is the right spot for that?
I want one on my inner forearm with a quote from a song and an image that it evokes for me... something I never want to forget. I think that's what tattoos are for me now, something meaningful.
How dare you!
