🌶️💃🏻🎸Brat House: Boobs, Bums and Bedlam🌶️💃🏻🎸

See, that's what I was thinking about Grilly... maybe it's time to go

Then consider me flambéd, because my anxiety makes me think of every possible bad outcome before I do anything at all
...

But also, my ADHD makes me impulsive, so I have been known to not think before acting in certain scenarios as well.
As a fellow ADHDer I’m right there with you Chloe!

I've been a Starbucks member since I was 18. I know they aren't the best, but they are better than most other chains, accessible, and I always know exactly what I want when I go.
Portland has a huge coffee culture, so I am spoiled. A lot of local roasters, a lot of local owned places, several chains, from Black Rock (think Starbucks recipe styles with better coffee) to Dutch Bros (coffee bros, mostly with coffee-colored milkshakes, but they have good roasters as well. The Kid is addicted). And, being where I am, Starbucks everywhere.
I ALWAYS care about the coffee. But, the shirtless part, well, it just makes the tips better 🤭
We have a load of bikini barista (and topless) shacks here as well...

Catching up, so I don't know if anyone updated you. If so...sorry. I am explainy.

Saved By the Bell was going to do "a very special episode" about Elizabeth Berkley's character, the name of whom escapes me because I hated that show, who was supposed to have a single-episode addiction to amphetamines. The network got scared of even that, and changed it to an addiction to No-Doze instead. It was taken even less seriously than the other "Just Say No" episodes of the era.

I see. I never watched that show. But I think I saw part of one episode which totally stuck in my head. But, not a show I watched at all.

Ahhhhh... very special episodes... where networks or whoever dictated that a sitcom has to deal with a serious social issue.

I remember the Edith Bunker gets AIDS episode well.

Is that the show that had a really pretty girlfriend with a character name like Topanga or something?
No, that was Boy Meets World. That show I liked-- it has a surreal quality to the humor.

And Topanga (Danielle Fishel) is gorgeous. And super smart. And sweet.

She wasn't only one reason I like that show, but she was high on the list.

Oh. Then that is the show I saw part of one episode of, which registered deep in my little brain.

Oh, I totally get it - they say smell is the strongest scent sense. Certain things can totally make me smell something I remember!

I think anglers is the gender neutral term, or is that for only certain types of fishing?
Smell actually bypasses the thalamus (which allows us to regulate emotions) and goes directly to the neocortex and memories directly. It is why smells can be so triggering, especially those related to traumatic memories.

The brain is a weird place.

Back of my ribs confused me for a minute… like… inside you? Then I figured you mean your back (I think!) 🤣

I’ll probably get my next one in my 50’s… never too late!
My first was in lieu of payment for database work I did for a tattoo artist. (I have bartered a lot of tech work over the years.).

I am planning my next one, a post-divorce one, but I have to pay for my kid's truck to get fixed (hit a deer. The deer was fine. The truck was not.) And I have a few others, almost all geeky, but important to me, planned out.

Wow… that was wild. I haven’t thought about this show in forever. But my kids watched it. And I generally was not watching it with them, I would see parts of an episode here and there. I remember thinking Danielle Fishel (since I now know her name) was extraordinary and so much more interesting to than anything else on the show. I suspect, I might stop and watch part of it, if she was on screen, then leave when her scene ended. That sounds very “me”, to me.

I hated the concept of being like it was for my generation, where we watched what dad wanted, regardless. So if the kids wanted to watch something, they did. We would likely be doing stuff in the kitchen while they watched tv in the living room. Not sure that was better, looking back.

But one episode, I caught the beginning of, and it held my attention for a good 10 minutes or so. I remember wondering what happened. But I assumed that what, to me, was super important and interesting, was likely glossed over or maybe the butt of jokes that would have bothered me anyway.

Anyway, thanks for reminding me of that. It was important to me, even though the show itself, was not (to me).
