The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Well the results are in from the biopsy. Like so many other older men have the lowest grade of prostate cancer that involves watchful waiting. 😊. I see the doctor in a few weeks to go over monitoring.
How reversible is it at this point? I hope you can get on top of it in a timely manner and beat it back before it starts to be an unpleasant process. Good luck.

I have some butternut squash seeds.... how do I get them ready for outside?

When to start seeds
  • Indoors: Start seeds in early April, about six weeks before the last frost.
  • Directly outdoors: Sow seeds directly into the soil in late May or early June.
How to plant
    • Prepare the soil: Dig in well-rotted organic matter to prepare the soil.
    • Plant seeds: Plant seeds ½ to 1 inch deep into hills or rows.
    • Transplant seedlings: Harden off seedlings outdoors after the last frost and transplant them into the garden.
Why wait for the last frost

    • Butternut squash is sensitive to cold and will freeze with the slightest frost.
    • Seeds will only germinate in warm soil.
How long to grow
  • Butternut squash has a long growing season, taking around four months to mature.

I can barely hold my eyes open. But I need to stay awake long enough to put the littlest one to bed on time. She gets to stay up late on Friday and Saturday nights. She wanted me to play her Nintendo again tonight, and I was tempted, but I couldn't keep my eyes from slooowly closing before I jerked back awake. 20 more minutes.

Here's something disturbing :1000000762.jpg

Consistently 4 pages behind... all day long
Finally - caught up for the moment (That moment? That was 3 hours ago now  ) Busy day
My dad would mess w m when’s I was a kid, turning the antenna this way and that.

“Right there…. Ok… now lift up your right leg…” 😂

And dumbass me would be sitting there for a few minutes, him keeping a straight face.
My dad loved doing stuff like that!
If memory services me right, they must have caught it before there was a major problem because liberty went down as scheduled. However, the guys working in the engine room still had to perform maintenance to flush out any mud sucked in as I didn't see many of them crossing the Quarter Deck going on liberty.
😍 Storytime!
And mowing the lawn. The lines gotta be perfectly straight….
It is good for angst and anxiety.
Or if you’re a nut, like me!
For an experiment, we moved a bunch of plants into the shop, with a tiny little heater and grow lights.
We're still getting tomatoes and peppers, the roses, a cactus and a lemon tree bloomed.
Nice!
The Captain just smiled, nodded his head, looked back at the Admiral, who said, "Carry on, I'm not going to interfere with working sailors." And they went on about with whatever Captains and Admirals do."
I'm liking this Captain fella
Todays coffee…

These are the classic diner to go cups or from any sidewalk stand in New York City, job site breakfast trucks…
I keep meaning to look up whomever created those cups. Did they make a fortune? B/c they are everywhere on the East Coast!!! Lovely gift idea!
Once we even grew a pot plant! Man do they smell!!
VOCs - in this case, terpenes. I have strong reactions to them... and to lots of the products suggested to flush them out of clothes. I love their practical and medicinal applications... but for other people. I need to keep my distance. 🤷‍♀️
I have another phone that has some good sunrise/sunset pics.
I won't photobomb y'all, but I'll post some of the nicer ones sometime.
 Have you thought about creating your own Sunrise/Sunset thread? I'd subscribe for another daily dose of Zen.
He was one of the good guys as was the Engineering Officer, ... Our Division Officer was a different story. He came aboard as an Ensign (O-1) and left the Navy four years later as an Ensign.
I really enjoy the wholesome HEA stories, but thinking there may be some humdingers where that feller's involved. 🤨
At a dive boat company I worked for, safety regs didn't allow me to replace an end on a drop cord, but they'd allow me to stand in 6 inches of water and connect 480V shore power in a live panel, to get the crew off of payroll.
Figures - "follow the money" 😥
I just called it "training."
But I used to test 220V with the back of my hand... I use a meter nowadays. Lol
Just like water, air, and most people, electricity takes "the path of least resistance."
The key to working on it live (which I don't recommend to ANYONE to do) is to NOT become that path.
I unintentionally did that once. Did not care for it. 💯 would not recommend.

Christmastime... (likely @Qky75's first Christmas)... mom was resting on the couch because "baby sleeps, you sleep". I was around 6 1/2, so mom was likely pregnant with baby #5. We were both in the family room having some rare quiet time.

Mom: Be a love and plug in mommy's little tree with the lights
Me: Plugs in the tree

This was one of those tabletop trees with fake snow and colored lights. Plug it in, it lights up. Pull the plug out of the socket, it's off. Simple, right?

Yeah - the plug blew up in my hand. Pieces of plastic flew everywhere. Lucky for me, it startled me enough to drop the whole thing or I might have been stuck holding a live wire.

The inside of my palm had black scorch marks that ran up the whole inside of my arm to my elbow. They washed off - no burns or anything. But was quite the visual.

I have never fully trusted electricity since... but I still use several "plug it in to turn it on" items to this day. :ROFLMAO: But that little spark when you plug something into a socket? 🤬🤬🤬 Do not like that to this day! I will say every bad word I can manage in a single breath when that happens.

I don't recall it being ceramic, but likely looked a lot like this one, but artificial with that sprayed on fake paint.

Yeah, fuck that!
One thing I don’t like to mess with is anything electric.
My neighbor is line man for the power company. He laughs at me!
My handyman laughed at me, too. Fuck it. When the new switch cover comes in, I'm still shutting off the breaker while I screw it in place.
I know the Mrs is a big gardener.... she needs to start a thread call it the dirty hoe channel and we can have the same vibe about plants....can you imagine... Hahahahaha
We can talk about hoes here
I love it!! I can barely tell a carnation from a rose, but I'm in... I would subscribe to that thread!
I might eat two salads a year though, if they're piled high with taco meat and cheese.
Dining out w/ certain friends/family, we never speak about it but if it's lunch or dinner their lettuce garnish makes its way onto my plate... and if it's breakfast, my bacon makes it onto theirs... and everyone is happy with this arrangement. 😁

🤗 @Rj_1954 good to see you!! I missed you here. Hope you and Mrs. Rj are both doing okay. ❤️
The other method I use, is do it on Lit, then when it doesn't post, I copy it, refresh the page, paste it and post it...
Constantly!!!
It's official I now fit the demographic of the thread today. I'm no longer a whippersnapper crashing the party.
Happy Birthday, @Qky75 🎉 🎂
Since it's a football weekend...

I love all this woman's posts.
Same... I really liked that Veronika video, too. Similar energy.
It has been fixed many many times. It is like pushing a cart with no wheels. It is old old old. Like a car without power steering.
Hola, chica!!
Well, that's a different story... it has valiantly served you well and deserves a proper send-off.
Shopping for a replacement yet?
Yes a typical green stick fracture. It was caused by the storm. Very dangerous to cut as it could twist back on me.
Yikes! Very glad you came out unscathed... especially as it took 3 hours?!?
Well the results are in from the biopsy. Like so many other older men have the lowest grade of prostate cancer that involves watchful waiting. 😊. I see the doctor in a few weeks to go over monitoring.
🫂 Best of luck with the active monitoring!
Strawberries: I remember the first year I nearly got any berries. The second year was great tho. Then the deer came…
Fuckin deer…
Think this would work for strawberries, too? I mean - you do wash them even if their organic, right?
