The author of the piece you shared stated that some critiqued his harsh and rapid-release article castigating President Carter so soon after his death. He also stated that he didn't understand why they did so.

It isn't hard to understand why if you have any sense of decency or sympathy for a person's family while they grieve.

He wrote the article and published it while the subject was a hot button. He chose to do so, apparently unaware that it was socially unacceptable by most of his readers.

What rock did he live under for so long as a writer and human being?

The focus now, and forever going forward, is make sure Pudd’n Head Biden assumes the mantle of worst president ever. Personally I don’t think the legacy of President Carter has any worries in that regard.
