Bump this every day Trump fails to cancel Jimmy Kimmel

A corporation firing or suspending an employee because of government pressure is a 1st amendment issue.
Meaningless.

But I remember your outrage when the well-documented proof came out of the Biden administration muscling social media, like Twitter and Facebook to ban users who disagreed with their policies.

Oh wait... No I don't.
That's because that's not what happened. What the Biden administration did do was push for social media to avoid knowingly sharing false or misleading content, specifically about covid at a time when that carried a real risk of putting people's lives in danger.

Yep. I doubt it was biden as well. We may never know who ran the auto pen, forced the non-vaccine on us, stifle free speech, silence opposition or where the money from Burisma went.

Since there's no evidence any of that really happened, you're right, we'll probably never know who did it.

There is plenty evidence that happened. Slow coming out now so they can’t say DoJ is being weaponized.
We won’t find out why the Epstein files weren’t released when they had them for four years either. Nor will we find out who suppressed them.
Since all are auto-pen pardoned Hunters laptop should be opened as well.

What part of "There are no Epstein files" didn't you understand?

No - you are purposely 'missing' - really trying to obfuscate the point. A corporate employer firing or suspending an employee for something they said has ZERO 1st Amendment standing.
Like I said, you're missing the bigger picture. There is no 'trying to obfuscate' anything. This is settled law. I've said that before, and you ignored it.

You’re trying to frame this as a simple corporate decision, but that ignores the core legal principle at play. Yes, a private employer disciplining an employee for speech isn’t automatically a First Amendment matter. But when the President of the United States leans on that employer—threatening consequences through the FCC if they don’t comply—that crosses into unconstitutional coercion.

The Supreme Court has been crystal clear on this: government officials cannot use their office to pressure private entities into punishing speech they dislike. In NRA v. Vullo (2024), a unanimous Court held that “coercion or threats by a government official, aimed at stifling protected expression, violate the First Amendment.”

So let’s stop pretending this is just a network HR call. When a felon in the White House publicly, in social media posts, demands someone’s firing because he was made fun of—and his FCC chair piles on with threats—what you’ve got isn’t corporate discipline. It’s government censorship without a Halloween clown costume disguise.

That's crystal clear, and if you don't see that, or accept the multiple cases supporting it, then you are pushing the same Trump agenda, attempting to obfuscate the facts yourself.

Try to stay on topic at least, and avoid straying off. You are risking the famous 'Don't make me tap the both sides button' guy showing up with his infamous bus emoji.

Good article in the WSJ today about Perry Sook, the conservative CEO and founder of Nextstar Media Group. When the FCC scraps its antiquated rule prohibiting a company from owning TV stations that reach 39% of viewers, Nextstar will have an 80% market share. Most of the remainder will belong to Sinclair. Nextstar also owns The Hill.

I remember when government was strict about monopolies.

Me too. Too bad they failed to end IBM’s dominance over the computer market and Microsoft’s control over the PC desktop. The consequences have been devastating. lol.
