If you've ever used plain yellow listerine it's kinda like that but the bitter aftertaste lingers for longer

This was my parents’ 50th anniversary, so I made a Shutterfly book for them with meaningful pictures from all 50 years of their marriage. Mom genuinely cried looking through it

I got an audio card!
That was really cool.
I made a killing in stitch memorabilia.... Slippers, ornaments, shopping bag, a Volkswagen beetle characterized as stitch....
Also... The wifey bought me a miter saw like .....in october... So that was my favorite gift....
For many reasons... IYKYK
I made 90% of my gifts.... So yarn everywhere! The best hands down.... Love making yarn gifts...
The saw helped with making wood this year ...

There were so many this year, but I’ll limit myself to one of each!
Received: My oldest niece painted a Christmas ornament for me with a portrait of my beloved pet. And she used the art supplies she got in the speciality advent calendar I sent to her at college
Gave: My youngest niece is having a tough time after her first experience with someone close to her dying. Along with getting her a therapist and talking about it regularly, it was decided that having something to take care of would be great for her anxiety. She adores all animals. The whole family got in on it and even spent Christmas Eve dinner talking about all the responsible behaviors she’d need to practice before she was ready for the pet that she’s begging for. She was eager to spend the next year and a half (time until the birthday deemed old enough) earning being a pet owner.
So…I fostered two floofy guinea pigs the last couple of weeks, so that we could surprise her Christmas morning with what she calls “emotional support piggies.” They’re adorable and both purr and squeak. Their fur sticks up in every direction, alternating between a punk rock mohawk look and an epic bed head look
My niece asked if this was real and cried when she got them. Then my sister started crying. It was awesome.

Me too! Decorating the tree is a whole event that includes hanging our favorite ornaments first and talking about the memories, people, and places associated with them.
My whole family is like that too. I gave my niece and nephew trees for their rooms years ago and one of their favorite things to do each year is hang up “their” ornaments - inherited, made, and gifts. My niece will often take them all down and hang them up in a new arrangement each day. And after my sister turns off everything each night, they will wake up and turn their trees back on so they can see the Christmas magic all night

Oof... I really wish I had a space heater in my office. I just got here about 20 minutes ago, it's freezing, and the radiator takes forever to warm up. It'll be mosty toasty in about 3 hours, long after I go home.
