Valentine's Day story and poem contest?

Alright Lit. gals n' guys!

I know we just got over the holidays....but Valentine's
Day is coming around the corner before we know it!

How does everyone feel about a story and poem
contest in honor of the holiday of love?

Hey Honey Dipped....
No sweat! It only makes sense....if there was a
Halloween and Holiday writing contest.....there
could be one for Valentine's too But this contest
would *include* poetry also....because the other
two contests didn't and on Valentine's Day many
lovers read love poems to each other.....after all,
at Barnes and Noble they put up a Valentine's
display of diff. books relating to the holiday, and there
are some poetry books among them. I hope Laurel
catches wind of this idea, because V-day isn't
that far away........

In all honesty, I would suggest both or one.

If this doesn't make any sense, allow me to explain.

Some people are great at writing poetry, but they might get bogged down by people that write full stories and someone's fully story might be better for the fact that its "more" so to speak.

So personally, I'd suggest valentines day story contest AND a poetry contest.

I think it is a great idea Tigerjen, and I agree with Bob... separate contests for stories and poetry would make sense, I'm not sure the two are easily comparable for contest purposes.

I think that the more I think about this whole thing,
and on what responses have been here so far, there
should be two separate contests.....OR even better,
a POETRY contest (since the last two "holiday-related"
contests had only stories)........I hope Laurel gets wind
of this because I would love to hear what her input is.
