I don't think it is necessary to tell the person up front that this is a one-time thing. Plenty of one-night stands happen everyday. However, it is up to the two of you if you tell someone up front. I think it will be easier for your to pick up someone. Telling them up front will make it even more difficult for him.

Yes, I think it is fair. Yes, it may make it harder. It may also make it easier. I pretty much recommend against toying with another persons emotions - get some bad karma going there.
