The lit old timers thread

So how did you fare with the AT&T outtage yesterday? I have AT&T and my internet and tv seemed okay. I received texts but was unable to reply to them on my phone. Apparently all my notifications were held as well because last night my phone started acting crazy with pings all over the place.

Cheyenne says I slept through it.

Thanks for sharing all of that, Someplace. I just read it all to Cheyenne. It's meaningful to me for having known them here, but it's really cool to hear the whole story, and I think I'd still enjoy it if I didn't know anyone involved.
I was thinking about it and realized how many GOOD friends we made in real life, initially through Lit. They were not all sexual, in fact most weren't. I think the common thread was that we could be our authentic selves. Yes there was a lot of double entendres and kidding, but it was all in good fun. We didn't have to worry about offending each other. Of course, if you were a liar about your internet personna, that likely didn't transmit well to real life. :) But at that point in time, early oughts, it was fun and made for some lifelong friendships.

I think that sums it up pretty well. It worked for us because we were genuine.

Since our other site suddenly changed hands and went downhill it feels like I've been lurking around this place forever

Checking in as well. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I finished reading the last book of a 34 or 35 book series this week. (Thrift books is my go-to for cheap reads.) I "earned" several free books in the process of accumulating the series. The last book just came out in hardback and I had to go to Barnes & Noble to get it, paying more for it than 7 or 8 of the other volumes. My own fault. I didn't want to wait and I didn't want it on kindle. Now I'm at loose ends and sad the story ended. I noticed the 3rd season of Bridgerton is about to start. Might bing-watch the first 2 seasons again just to remind myself of all the story lines.

I binged season one this weekend. I don't know why I waited so long to watch it, it's so fun!

Hey everyone! I think that I qualify as one of the old timers! Usually I just pop in then back out every couple of years. I've managed to stick around for a about a week now. Lit is different. Maybe it is the new faces that I don't recognize. I scroll thru the GB and its the verbal equivalent of pornhub. I don't see as much of the verbal sparring and quick wit. But, I do see enough familiar faces to keep it interesting. I miss some old friends but I understand that people move on to different phases of their lives.
