The lit old timers thread

So a long long time ago on a different style board we had the general board. It wasn't what it is today. Which seems to be mostly about people's favorite type of porn. While we had that back in the day it wasn't the main reason for coming here.



While I don't know the in's and outs of what has gone on with people I do remember quite a few of them. Sure I wasn't buddy buddy with anyone but I could still shoot the shit regardless.



Anyways I stil see a few old timers on here. Which begs what would be considered an old timer? 2015? 2012? How well you settled and were accepted? Maybe your attitude?



I think moving politics to its own section was a mistake but that section doesn't have the traffic in my opinion.





Some of us have moved on, some of us have passed on, some of us never left, and some of us come back and forth.



Maybe some of you who know people outside of here can tell people to come say hello. They don't have to stay, but just a hello is nice.

Good to see you. Well, American politics is more adversarial and polarized than it was at the turn of the century, and I think that was demonstrated in flame wars on the GB. I don't blame people for complaining about that, and making politics stand in the corner was a plausible, if not perfect solution.

As for who's an oldie, I don't go by year so much as if I recognize a name or an avatar. It's further complicated by posters who get banned and return under ALT names.

I haven't changed my av except for one Halloween when I put up a polar bear eating a seal. A good friend was taken back by the image, so I bounced back to the original av.

yes, the general board was a lot livelier with conversation back then, but even those days you had the real oldies complaining the golden age had passed.

I don't blame people for complaining about that" or do i blame Laurel for making a political board to ease the problem but it was a major change and now the GB has only a couple of threads i visit, and a desire to contribute new threads is very very restricted.

Based on most of the responses to this thread, I may have come to Lit too late to be considered an old timer, despite having been here over 15 years. Still, the people I remember from back in 2007 are pretty much all gone now. So was I for several long breaks. But I'm like a bad penny, I'm cheap, dirty, a bit worn, and I give head and tail.
