The Federal Deficit.

Good point. Why do the Democrats who were in office while Obama was president suddenly pretend to give a shit about the deficit?
You may recall a crashed economy and a couple unnecessary, unfunded, illegal wars Dubya's gang left the n!gger to clean up. With a big fat costly bailout passed in Dubya's final days that Obama's budget was blamed for. You may also recall that Wee Willie left Dubya a budget surplus, promptly wasted. Or you might not recall all that. Depends on how bad your memory is.

Clinton's projected surplus never materialized. It was based on revenue projections based on the dot-com bubble. Which burst.

If it did materialize, which it didn't, it would have actually been the Gingrich Surplus. Bill Clinton had nothing to do with fashioning that budget and it was passed over his strong objections because there was a strong possibility that they would be able to override his veto.

The market isn't doing as well now under Trump as it was during Obama at this same time in his presidency. I'm sure you realize and recognize that though, right?

Right?

In terms of reaching new highs, I'd say you are spectacularly wrong.

Under Obama there was a distinct turnaround. This is now merely a continuation. Huuuuge difference.

While you idiots labor to pick fly shit out of pepper vis-a-vis isolated budget deficits/surpluses of past administrations, "the only entity that matters" is the national debt, now standing at $20 trillion and counting.

Take a look and keep your eye on the doughnut rather than each other's A-hole.

Those 2 Bush wars really took it's toll on the national debt.

We're currently in 4 wars, if you add in Yemin and Syria.

Bad for the deficit. I'm sure Col. Hogan will be along any moment to call for an end to those wars. Unless of course, he's picking fly shit out of the pepper or whatever he said.

The problem is you can't increase spending AND give tax cuts at the same time. So all the BIG money you are making now as a result of the tax cuts...invest it well because you will be paying double back in a few years.

It's only important when the other party is the one holding Uncle Sam's credit card.

It NEVER matters to the one who happens to be spending on it.
