I agree with this fully. However, if pulled off correctly, it could make the story truly stand out as extremely unique. Would take a lot of talent to make it work, but I do think it's possible. Setting things from the lady's point of view so that the reader can partake in her thoughts would help out tons. If I didn't have such an extensive back-log, I'd be tempted to take this on for the challenge of it, even though I would likely fail dramatically.
