Question about story categories

So, I’ve made my first submission for publication on Lit, and thought I could use some advice from others who have posted before.

I’m unsure about how I’ve set it in category. The themes of the story is about a middle aged woman masturbating while she describes her kinkiest, dark fantasies. Plenty of group sex with non-con themes. However, no actual non-con events happen in the story. It's all told as a fantasy she’s thinking about while masturbating privately. It’s more she pretends to struggle, then she’s eventually actively involved and encouraging events. Basically, as with most non-con fantasies people tend to have. It’s really just rough sex fantasies she enjoys.

Was going to set it as Fetish but changed it to Group Sex, since nearly all the events she describes are two or more guys.

Would this sound good for Group Sex or the Non-Con section?? Feels like readers looking in non-con might be disappointed she’s not actually resisting anything for long.

I've written a few stories over the past two years and I swear, every post I make I regret my category. Most times, I can never fit my kinky story into a neat category. Group sex may be a good theme for what you are describing. I'd def avoid non-con for that story.

I write a lot of non-con and it is a bizarre topic to please the reader. Some want a light reluctant story and are offended that you've taken it too far, then others want a extreme type of story and are upset if it isn't brute enough. You will never... (and if you do, please tell me the secret,) please everyone.

Write what you enjoy, if they like it, they like it.

Thanks. Non-con just didn’t feel right, because it’s all just fantasies she’s imagining. It’s really about her enjoying the fantasy of rough sex.
Sort of the aim of the story is to normalize people having dark fantasies. That just because she likes to imagine certain events doesn‘t mean she wants the reality of it.

I did have to resubmit. Seems they thought I was describing the middle-aged, main character as under 18 in the fourth paragraph. Which was not intentional. Described her as a “young woman” who developed early. Thought 18 was implied. So changed it to be clear she’s legal aged before anything erotic happened.

Sounds classic Toys & Masturbation.
Don’t think that would fit at all. Yes, she’s masturbating as she’s imagining these fantasies. However, I don’t go much into much detail of her using her sex toys. They’re more tools she’s using. The majority is of her describing events in her fantasies.

It's a category that includes the use of toys, machines, &c., sometimes for partnered sex but I certainly prefer it for solo sex. But the category also includes stories that are masturbation without toys, and if your story has significant emphasis on that then I don't see why it wouldn't fit.

On Lit, we accept that some stories claim to be true but aren't, some are true (or have elements of truth) but make no claim, but the majority are fiction that we indulge ourselves in believing are true. For a story to say explicitly, "This is a fantasy," adds a further layer of unreality.

If the story you want to write is the non-con + group scenario, then why not write that? Sure, you know it's a fantasy and so do the readers, but we get to pretend it's real. Otherwise the only real sex is the masturbation.

I have exactly the same problem with dream sequences in stories. They very rarely mean anything to the plot; the dream ends and... what?

So if I'm reading a Non-Con story and it starts with, "Here's my fantasy of being taken against my will," or if I read a Group story that starts similarly, I'm instantly put off reading. I don't want someone telling me their fantasy, I want the fantasy itself.

I am, of course, just one reader. Make of this what you will.

Taking in consideration what you had to say. I may agree. In a few of my test readings, a repeated critique I saw was disappointment the last scene wasn’t real but describing a dream she’s having for herself. Despite numerous mentions that this was all fantasy.

I did rework the final scene to include breaks to reality. Either with her catching her breath, changing sex toys, or the worry of getting caught from a random sound. It all basically is masturbation in the end. Maybe putting it in that category will remove that concern from comments.

The story I’m wanting to tell here is that it’s normal and healthy to have dark fantasies. There’s no shame in it. What you have fantasize about doesn’t mean you really want to do it. It’s important to know where to draw that line.

When I look in on threads here of people talking about their darkest fantasy. Women frequently list shame of having non-con fantasies. It was even discussed in my psychology classes in school. It’s really a rather common fantasy but public stigma makes it seem so taboo. Puritanical ideals put a lot of shame around sexuality. Especially on women enjoying it.

I wanted to write about a character that had a wild past, enjoys rough sex, and dark fantasy, but won’t tolerate real world disrespect.

The story is published now. Wasn’t expecting it to end up as four, site pages. I know I don’t often read erotica on here over 2-3. Hope that doesn’t hurt the viewership. Now to just wait and see if it gets any input from readers.

I consulted with women readers quite a bit creating this. I didn’t want to be just jerk off materials for guys. Wanted women to also enjoy it, if they’re into such fetishes. One thing I frequently heard the women say was they wanted details. Probably why it became so long.

Added chapters should be shorter.

It's a hot story. I read two pages, I hope to finish it tonight. 😜
Happy to know you’re enjoying it. If you’ve stopped at page two, you haven’t hit the surprise yet. Unless you’ve guessed it. It‘s not very subtle.

Don't forget to add a link to your stories in your signature.
Added the link to the signature. Also skimmed through some of your stories. Nice to see some trans representation. Didn’t have time to read any of those yet.

I did read the incest story with the washing machine theme. Honestly, in porn I’ve never been much of a fan of the “stuck in” theme. I do like the way you used it. Not only is it established as part of adults consentingly playing. It’s used as a set up for the mom-son finale the events are building up to. Left a rate and comment.

I am a big fan of mom-son scenes that get rough, kinky, and risky creampies. Have a few ideas for that in stories myself.

I've yet to see a porn clip with a 'stuck in' theme that didn't look horribly contrived, even by the standards of porn.
