As I tap this out, I’m not sure what I want to title this thread. I have not been successful in creating collaboration threads over the years and it’s okay, but I need something to spark creativity.

I originally started typing a whole rant about The Buggles’ Video Killed the Radio Star and how a similar thing has happened to the Lit world. But I liked it too well, so I decided to save that writing for personal, public consumption and remove the porn board portion.

MTV played that video as their first video on August 1, 1981. Coming up on 40 years quickly and nothing is the same.

Regarding Lit, the creativity and feedback has been depleted. I know that there are some very popular threads, but viewership is likely down because exhibitionists are down. That’s my guess. OnlyFans and ********** have turned exhibitionism profitable for some.

And video killed the picture poster.

I’ll sit and watch Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives because of the variety. That damn show has been on for years. Yes, he has to revisit some of the same venues. Here’s the thing, when I see something I like, I try to make it myself. No, they are not giving away secrets or spelling out recipes.

You don’t know the way I cook. I wing it.

And I started thinking about how so many people over the years have said they have run out of ideas. We all have a go-to thing we do. We need to feed off each other.

My original thought a couple of nights ago was to call this Professor MG’s Photograph Assignments. Because that’s what this will be like. Show and tell. Assigned homework.

Side note: I’m a professor the same as Doctor Johnny Fever is a real doctor.

Many thread ideas don’t have much life to them because there is only so much that can be done. I understand this. Nice ideas, and I enjoyed seeing what people did, but there just wasn’t a ton that could be done.

Example: The music albums thread. Great idea and I could see that being resurrected here in some form, but a whole thread was a bit much.

Concept: I throw out an idea. We leave that idea in the spotlight for a week or two. People reply. I’ll index. Start a new idea. Rinse. Repeat. Also, no reason an idea cannot be revisited by anybody who is catching up.

Of course, this is a feedback forum.

If you have picture concept ideas, please send them my way.

Additionally, if this goes well, I won’t have to work on my own thread anymore. Everybody wins.

Next post will be a link to the post which introduces the concepts.

The post which introduced the concept will be indexed for those pictures. It’ll make sense.

Was hoping something better would come to me as I typed this out… oh well. Hope we have fun with it.

I think your thread will be great MG.. Good luck!! :)

I have had this pic for a while but thought it too boring to post. The way the ceiling looks, uncertainty is how I’d describe it which accurately describes my time here.

I like the first. It feels more disorienting.

A great thread off and running, MG 🌷

Thank you all for helping get this off the ground.

And feedback.

Great idea MG. If you’ve done this for a while it gets harder to come up with ideas for a series or one off. I have a friend I play this game with. Lots of fun

Uncertainty. I can see that here; the position of your legs. They say something about whether you are getting down or hopping up. Which way is uncertain.

I painstakingly went through your pictures, but I could not find a match.

The upload url attachment thing doesn’t like me. Fixed it now though (I think? Did I?).

I really like the angle/perspective you got here- very imaginative. Thank you for sharing.

Okay Professor, I would like to play. Sometimes the best way to overcome technological burnout is to reject it completely. Well, almost completely. I live by oxymorons. (Yes, my sketchpad is on top of my closed laptop)

Sometimes the reason is the mood.

I like this. Thank you tan.

So many feelings..but I'll go with this one, the one of me pouring bourbon in my coffee seemed too cliche. 😆
I tried, Professor.

Oye, I feel the tech burnout... (Been searching for a Chromebook and rural internet service over the last few days.)

I kept looking at the sketch wondering what I was looking at... a corn hole board? A she shed? A dungeon hidden under the stairs?

Assignment #2- Odd Prop

I am assuming that Assignment #1 will kind of be something which can be picked up or added to anytime.

I thought it may be fun to get something different in the meantime.

If I could be a portrait photographer, I’d own a rotary dial phone and make everybody hold it in some fashion. It would have bright colors and be completely out of place.

I should buy one anyway. Likely easier to find than a phone booth.

We all like to pull something out that we think is sexy or goes along with the porn board ideas, but it may be fun to incorporate something that some would seem is “out of place” with the photo.

This one may take a little more thought.

Nice shot JAF. Actually, it looks like two shots. One around the breastbone and one in the side as you started falling from the first shot.

I knew chocolate syrup could look like blood when filmed or photographed but I had no idea wax made a great substitute when you're out of Hershey's.

Sorry you were feeling dead.
Happy you were feeling spent.
Happier you've added a new corridor in my mind when I hear the phrase "I have to go wax myself."

Cheers

Okay, enough anticipation...it is the legs of a wooden bench.
