I’ve tried to develop such an idea as well and have it slowly burn over the course of the story. The idea is that the two women meet anonymously and have no idea who the other person is. They carry on the affair throughout some time, and while there are mentions of the older woman being married and the younger woman having a boyfriend, neither makes the connection until the boyfriend introduces her to his parents.
