Incest without the incest, or couples that shouldn't be together

Hi,

so I have a friend who writes stories for me. I give her the idea, and she writes. Thing is, I don’t want her to do all the work alone and try to come up with a detailed plot. I am not a fan of incest, well I am not opposed to it strictly speaking but I find it a bit boring. I like the forbidden love aspect of brother/sister stories, but don’t like the idea of the characters being brother/sister if that makes sense.

Was wondering, do you guys know any other pairings that shouldn’t be together, but end up hooking up anyway because they are into each other? I was thinking for a bit, and the only thing that I came up with, is a “best friend’s SO” plot. But I kind of don’t want to do that, because I don’t like cheating that much. Yeah so I need some help from you guys.

Now it is not necessary, but do you guys maybe know any pairings that hate each other to a degree? Kinda like how some siblings tease each other.

Teacher/student. Patient/ therapist. Parolee/parole officer. Soldier/officer or drill sergeant.

Parolee/parole officer sounds interesting to me. You don't happen to know any stories with that pairing? I would like to read up some more about it because this is very new to me. I don't really watch tv shows about cops, and know basically nothing about prison culture.

Prisoner/prison guard.

I think this could work, for the same reasons why I like the parolee/parole officer pairing. Do you maybe know any stories (non erotic ones would work too) that deals with this pairing? I kinda wanna get into the characters here, in a "how do prisoners/guards see each other" way. Like how does the relationship work to then figure out how they could end up liking each other.

The only thing I can think of is workplace sexual harassment.

Yeah I also thought about some workplace pairings. Like maybe two people who work in sales, disliking each other because they steal each others customers.

I hope no one finds this offensive, but - especially in the current climate - how about lovers across some political divide (I hesitate to mention the Mid East)?

Maybe a relationship between a MAGA guy and a SJW girl (or vice versa to really mix it up).

Before anyone jumps on me about politics, it’s probably pretty evident where on the political spectrum the gay twenty-something sits. But people are still people, not “the other”.

Could become a modern Julio and Romy.

Sorry, just thought of some pairings off the top of my head.

On the Mid East thing. Set it in NYC and you can use Fingerback by Vampire Weekend as a template.

I really like this pairing too. But the stories I found so far were either very biased, e.g. you could tell that the writer is politically leaning heavily towards one of them, and the whole story is just an excuse to make one party realize that the other was right all along. Or it's full of stereotypes to the point where it was not enjoyable for me.

But more importantly, I think my friend would be heavily offended by this lol. I also don't think that she could pull this off very well, because she is kinda biased too.

If I was doing it, I'd have a MAGA tradwife turn into a femdom to please her socialist "husband."

I like the parent/teacher idea, young married mom, older more experienced teacher wants to help everyone succeed, mom included, mom doesn’t want to cheat, bring dad into it and so begins her hot wife road

I did a story about a Catholic priest and a non religious woman hooking up (but Priest/parishioner is a trope almost as well worn as incest)

Only reason I'd avoid this is ends of the spectrum on both sides will loathe it, if reception is a thing for the author.

Different religions work.
Arranged marriage thwarting.
Other side of the tracks.
Interracial is standard.
May-December.
Clergy/Nuns.
Language divide.
Clowns and ANYBODY.

I will never understand clown fetishes.

My utter P.O.S. Step Grandfather was miserable over everything, except clowns.

Apparently HIS P.O.S. father only ever spent quality time when the circus came to town so it implanted a comfort seed.

He'd drag me to the Elephant Poop Smell Jamboree any chance he could, even though he despised me and the rest of the family.

I can see how a comfort seed could go sideways when most of the rest of you is broken.

Better idea.

A Steelers girl from PA and an Eagles guy from NJ (with a poor grasp on geography and state lines).

This is quite good. Fandom travels so you can even have neutral corners but absolutely die harders meet cute-ing but later butting heads.

The backstory of why X team is fertile ground. Homage to passed loved ones/experience together, etc. etc.

It kinda works, right. And you could substitute other teams.

Canadians and hockey could amp it up if you're willing a little affectation and dialog work, eh?
My knowledge of hockey makes my knowledge of football seem encyclopedic 🤣.

I used to play softball, otherwise my sports are more individual (running, rock climbing etc.)

This is something that I like too, because it's not political. Thing is, I wouldn't be able to create a story on this because I personally am not passionate about sports or teams. I absolutely do not understand why the fan of team A, dislikes people who support team B. Even if I was a fan of a sports team, if someone came up to me and said that they support a different team, I wouldn't dislike them for it. If anything, it would make watching sports with them more interesting. I think.

Any relationship where one partner has authority over the other. They're all taboo because of the opportunities for abuse, but don't try posting any of them to I/T.
