Ideas for a non-incest but still very taboo relationship?

I have a vague premise for a story I want to write, but I'm having trouble coming up with one of the central details. The basic idea is this:

A young (18-21), inexperienced, socially awkward guy with no sex life is so desperate for sex that he is tempted into a relationship with a taboo partner. It would be a huge embarrassment if his family or friends found out that he was having sex with this person, so he has to go to lengths to keep it a secret. The whole time he is ashamed of himself and telling himself he should break it off, but is too horny to stop. Then he accidentally gets his secret lover pregnant. After some attempts to keep under wraps who the father is, it eventually comes out and becomes common knowledge, resulting in his complete humiliation. At the end, despite everything, he still can't help going back for more.

The trouble is, outside of incest, I have trouble thinking of an idea for who his partner could be that would be taboo enough for the story to work. I don't want to write the kind of incest story that readers in the incest category probably want (i.e. I'm not writing anything involving brother/sister or parent/child).

Any ideas?

Also, is it even worth me writing this kind of story? I'm not sure if anyone else besides me has this kind of weird kink involving taboo pregnancy combined with humiliation/ruination.

Depending on location, cultural taboos may be useful. For example, an older (mid-thirties perhaps), married woman; a person of a different religious persuation; different class/caste; family rival; parent's boss/employee... etc.

Good luck!

Pregnancy is a huge kink and that will get people reading.

As for who, look at power dynamics. Older boss, teacher, someone in a position of authority. Those are relationships that can cause scandal IRL.

I'd say an Aunt if you want to write in incest, but taboo relationships are everywhere.

I also noticed that "Incest & Taboo" pretty much always means incest, and I set about to write a story with some non-incest taboo. I wrote a tale of a woman who is having sex with her son (so there is some incest for the die-hard fans) but she feels extremely guilty about it. When she goes to church to confess her sins to her priest, they both get so horned up over her stories that she starts having an affair with the priest, too.

Not surprisingly, many of the comments were along the lines of "lose the priest; he's a distraction!"

So don't. There's nothing forcing specific couplings other than views/vote chasing which, more often than not, ends up in middling output b/c the author wasn't really into the story they were telling.

Plenty of steps, cousins, aunts/uncles in the top list (well received) if the flowers are a must.

As for taboo, there's an ocean of options. Girl from the wrong side of the tracks. (poor, his parents worry about scheming, etc.) Drug addict. Overweight/unattractive. Different race/religion. Etc. etc. etc. People's ability to be judgemental is pretty much limitless.

Kink ain't my jam but that doesn't mean a story shouldn't exist. You clearly understand the lay of the land and know you likely won't get gangbusters reception so all you need to do is set your expectations accordingly.

I'm sure there are others who share your humiliation/ruination kink. And maybe even the limited interactions that would come from writing it would greatly enhance your kink.

An interesting switch-up might be the lower status growing unashamed of their differences or even coming to weaponize his shame to up seemingly to "give him what he gets off on" but also leads to an increase her own feelings of worth. Maybe she overdoes it b/c she can't stop and conflict arises from getting everything he "asked" for and it not being what he hoped for.

A lot of this seems power indifference fetishized so just move those chess pieces around to see what works for you and your characters.

The oddball neighbor lady nobody really understands or trusts. The massive house is the oldest in the neighborhood, by decades. Some might even consider her a witch of sorts. They think she's out to corrupt the youth.

Unknown to them, she's an exquisite business mind running a large corporation in near total privacy, maybe an overseas company. She may have a mysteriously foreign appearance that can't really be defined.

They may even call her Maggie.

There are many options for taboo without incest.

- Someone much older or much younger, especially if one part's barely legal
- A coworker, especially superior, especially in military
- A teacher/student
- A member of clergy
- Someone married
- Step-family or distant family member

You can always make it up from tin air. Say, his family church fears redheads as embodiment of all evil and devious. Worse, she's speaking the wrong language as her native. Unthinkable, but rumored though never proven, she could be bastard child of his father's older brother. And she eats onions!

You could also set the story far enough in the past that these social taboos held a lot more weight than they do now. If you prefer to keep it in a modern setting, perhaps one of them is in an arranged marriage? There are still societies that practice it, particularly in older, wealthier families who wish to honor the tradition. Pregnancy outside of wedlock would be a HUGE scandal in such a scenario.

Any relationship involving a power disparity. Law enforcement, for example.

Dynamics were someone's future is at play. Education. The workplace.

Religious taboos. A nun.

Infidelity, particularly combined with another taboo. A babysitter. Foreign exchange student.

Blackmail, of course.

Let's put a religious spin on it and I'll suggest the woman who was your sponsor during confirmation, when you're twelve. You met accidently as you come home after college graduation and she's still smoking hot in her mid forties. Recently divorced or widowed she's not hard to seduce but the church community would not approve.

I'm doing a naughty aunt story now, but a step aunt would work, as well as mother in law, dad's or mom's ex-gf, mom's bestie is always good. Lots of options.

Another good idea would be a college student having an affair with the TA for one of her classes. I think that's a lot more believable than student/professor hookups.
You should check the american news. Its not only happening at some colleges...its permitted.

Another potential taboo relationship is a lawyer and his/her client.

I had a friend who fell in love with her lawyer while she was going through her divorce. Ultimately the man got disbarred for it. Kind of a high price to pay...

Mom's best friend? Or best friends mom? Maybe getting ready to sell home and looking for a hand to get ready for sale......etc etc.....

Maybe not technically taboo....

If you can avoid the political angle, maybe a Russian family and the kid is hot for that Ukraine girl that really knocks him out.

Or the opposite.

I LIVE for taboo, but incest not so much.
I guess its why porn focuses a lot on step families...the step that gets me off would have to be interracial

I've done clergy a lot, and some cops

How is that taboo? Inappropriate maybe, not taboo.

It's interesting that the incest taboo seems to be mainly a male passion. I know you hear sometimes of "father worship" in respect of girls but this doesn't seem to carry through to much interest on here. Not that there are many females on Lit.

First thing to come to mind for non-incest but taboo was religion. A nun desperate to get laid, a good Muslim girl lusting after a Jewish guy, heck- even a Catholic Irish girl and an Anglican English man.

In a lot of times and places, race. I know a blue-eyed guy who had huge issues over his race with his Afghan wife's family. I have heard black women speaking ill of other black women who go out with white guys.

I could also see other dynamics as creating "taboo" sex; when I was in university, the serious anti-war movement women were openly contemptuous of me for being military, until their anti-war friends weren't looking,

It is more common in real life than you think.

It has never happened to me, but I grew up in a foster home, and can verify in the real world that aunt's that liked their nephew's happened quite a bit, and female cousins who liked male cousins. I only know of two mother's who liked their sons.

When I was a teacher, females falling in love with male teachers was a concern. It is very frequent because a lot of times girls do not have fathers in their lives and see a male teacher as a fatherly-figure and often mis-associate love, or respect.. with giving that person sex.

Look up the definition. You can get fired for farting, do you consider that taboo?
