Prince Arthas Menethil

Arthas let out a deep booming laugh. The thought of him asking the Elven King for his sons hand in marriage was so outrageous that he couldn't contain himself.

"Can you imagine the look on his face?"

"Well that explains why you turned down Sha're" Arthas mocked in his best impersonation.

"No really Jaina in all seriousness are you and Kael'thas together at all? Are we going to be making another dreaded trip over the sea for a different wedding?" He asked

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Jaina sighed heavily as she shook her head.

"I don't know Arthas," Jaina replied, stomach churning at the knowledge that she failed to even get a goodnight kiss from Kael'thas. "What about you? Now you are no longer intending to be betrothed you are a free man again. You'll soom be back to your woman wooing ways I presume?"

Jaina didn't want to think about Kael'tas, let alone discuss him with Arthas.

Prince Arthas Menethil

Arthas quelled at the redirection of the conversation. He was really hoping to gain some kind of insight to her desires.

"After tonight I'm really not sure that I've been going about it the right way. All the girls I've ever been with have been the same. Boringly pretty, not very intelligent and generally dull." He began. It was the first time he'd ever confessed the truth even to himself. He'd never even told any of his other friends back home, yet none of it felt wrong.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Jaina's eyebrows arched in surprise at Arthas' confession. Not only because of his admission that his past choice in women had been unsatisfying, but because it was part of him admitting regrets (something that he rarely ever did). As amused as she was, Jaina couldn't ignore the discomfort of sitting in her gown. It was a tight and firm fit and she had already been in it for far too long. She got to her feet and then brushed the creases out of the bodice.

"Sorry Arthas, I'll be back in a moment," Jaina walked over to where a set of her more comfortable clothes were and grabbed a blue gown with gold trims and white shift. What she was really yearning for was the comfort and familiarity of her seafaring clothes, but she knew that wouldn't be appropriate to wear infront of Arthas. She then escaped into the adjoined dressing room and eagerly shed her down and under clothing. When she had pulled her long blue gown on over her shift she went back out. She was pulling her hair out of the neckline of her dress when she walked back through the door.

"Sorry, that dress is gorgeous but terribly uncomfortable," Jaina said as she resumed her seat on the bed. "So tell me, if the women you used to pursue were boring what if your new ideal?"

Prince Arthas Menethil

While Jaina changed Arthas removed his formal jacket, cloak and boots he also unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt and cuffs so he could roll of the sleeves. He'd always been taught that his image in the public eye was of the utmost importance, but in the privacy of his own room or Jaina's room in this case he felt free enough to loosen up.

When Jaina returned Arthas smiled at her new attire, whilst he appreciated the glamour of her fofmer outfit the one she had on was far more casual and better suited to her personality.

"The opposite I guess. I'm not really sure, do you remember that court girl that I escorted last year to the annual ball. The most words I could get out of her were Yes milord. I swear she had air between her ears instead of brains."

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Seeing Arthas on her bed with his buttons undone and sleeves rolled up made Jaina wonder just what he would look like with even less clothes on. As soon as the thought crossed her mind she flushed with embarassment and turned to look out of the large glass doors. Her interactions with Kael'thas had left her desperate, and thinking of Arthas that was was entirely inappropriate.

"I would have thought that was an advantage for your approach to such pursuits," Jaina jibed, taking a breath to steady herself before turning to him and giving him a winning smile. "You'd better be careful what you wish for though, I can't imagine you'd be happy if you ended up with a woman who had more smarts than you."

Prince Arthas Menethil

Arthas chuckled again, he loved the way she was so honest with him.

"You know despite what you see on the outside and what I show other people I really don't like that. I want a woman who I can really converse with, someone who really knows me and not what I present to the world. I want someone who I can just be me and not have to worry about the rest of the world." As the words left his mouth he was beginning to realise who he was describing. The beautiful woman standing in front of him was perfect for him in every way. The question was why hadn't he seen it before?

He wanted to ask her then and there but he was still unsure about her feelings toward the Elven Prince, if she fancied him then an admission of true feelings would make the friendly situation extremely awkward. Even if that weren't the case she maybe completely unattracted to him, after all she wasn't the usual damsel that tried to flutter her way into his bed.

"Anyway enough about me. How about you? Now that I know you've put yourself on the market what are you looking for in a man? Is Kael'thas that kind of man?" He queried with a raised eyebrow and cheeky smirk.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Jaina listened to Arthas' impassioned confession about his ultimate woman. When their eyes met he quickly stilled his words and a strange look overtook him. Within minutes it was gone. Instead his normal haughtiness had returned and he was redirecting the conversation.

"I'd hardly say I was on the market," Jaina replied dismissively, "I am just willing to keep my mind open."

She thought back to the wonderful evening that she'd had. It was characterised by excellent discussion, happiness and a sense of contentment. However there was something lacking; excitement and challenge. Compared to the time on the boat with Arthas where her emotions had run a temptest of hot and cold, her time wtih Kael'thas was comparatively calm. Even though she appreciated his level-headedness it was, if she had to admit, somewhat more boring. As Jaina thought this she looked up at Arthas and couldn't stop the rosey tinge that peppered her cheeks.

"I'm about Kael'thas," she replied with a shrug, "we certainly get on well enough."

Arthas's clear desire for something that would provide him with more than just contentment made Jaina wonder if she needed more than that. She was attracted to Kael'thas, there was no doubt about it, but was she attracted enough to marry him? She knew what their life would be like already; they'd have academic discussions late into the night, they'd spend hours reading side by side. They would spur each other on and increase chances of critical thinking. And, if Kael'thas let himself go, they might enjoy a satisfying sex life.

"I'm really don't know," Jaina said, looking up at Arthas. She held his gaze with more confidence than she felt. "I could certainly be content with him... But that's not really enough, is it?"

Prince Arthas Menethil

The slight hesitation in her voice was enough of a marker for him to wonder. If she wasn't completely into Kael'thas there was a chance she had feelings for him. It was now or never; before he lost what confidence he had left. A memory surfaced that helped him continue the conversation.

"I know exactly what you mean. Do you remember that time a couple of years ago we got caught in the rain on the way back to castle? We weren't supposed to be out so we had to sneak in the the back way but since they locked the service entrance late at night we got locked out. We had to spend the night together. I didn't do it but I really wished I kissed you that night."

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Jaina gasped at Arthas' confession. Her mind raced back to the night he had recalled and she understood. It had been such fun, and in this moment she wished that he had kissed her then too; it would have saved them a lot of hassle. Jaina's heart thumped relentlessly against her breastbone and she slid onto the bed next to Arthas.

"And what do you wish for now Arthas?" She whispered, eyes wide and wary as she waited for his response.

Earlier that night she thought that she'd never want someone to kiss her as desperately as she wanted Kael'thas to. But now she knew how wrong she was...

Prince Arthas Menethil

Word seemed insufficient to demonstrate how he felt at that point. He leaned in close, tilted his head and paused only millimetres from her lips. He could feel the heat of her breath intermixed with his own and waited for her to close the final distance.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

At that moment there was no doubt what Arthas wished for. As Jaina leant forward, closing the small gap between them, she knew that she wished for the same thing.

As soon as their lips met her body was set alight. The blood rushed through her veins and her heart was thundering in her rib cage. The way his lips felt against her own was indescribable, and the masculine scent of him made her sigh into his mouth as their lips parted. A strong sense of rightness overwhelmed Jaina, and she reached out for Arthas, wanting more than she was giving and hoping desperately that he wanted to give it to her.

Prince Arthas Menethil

In truth Arthas had no idea what kissing Jaina would be like, at first he thought it would be strange but as their lips pressed firmly together every fibre of his being screamed out to him. There was no drunken awkwardness, no pointless flattery or meaningless pre-sex banter just a pure connection that seemed to have no end.

Arthas remembered distinctly the moment when he attuned himself with the power of the holy light. The surge of unhinged power that flowed through his body now dwarfed that of his first connection. As their mouth twisted and turned in the moment of passion he felt the power of the light growing from him like he'd never felt before.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Somewhere in the midst of their kiss, Jaina noticed an uncomfortable brightness radiating through her closed lids. She gently (and quite relunctantly) pulled away from Arthas and opened her eyes to see his entire body glowing, bright and pure light radiating from every pore in his skin.

"You're glowing!" Jaina gasped before an amused smile tugged at the corner of her lips. Even though the oddness of amused her she was overtaken by a sense of awe at the power she felt radiating from him. She looked into his eyes and noticed that there was nothing but desire there and she blushed. She knew how he felt. She was somewhat surprised at her own reaction to the kiss. Despite the fact that they had grown up and were close friends, it hadn't felt strange. It had felt natural and wonderful. She could understand why Arthas was glowing. If she could, she was sure she would have been filled with holy light at the experience also.

Arthas wasn't surprised to see his hands glowing with radiant energy, that was normal for one of his class but the fact that his whole body was illuminated did give him quite the shock. After a brief moment of inner meditation he managed to contain the light back into his hands.

"I just thought of something. There is an excersise that we are taught as paladins that helps us control the power of holy light. Here let me show you."

In his eagerness Arthas forgot his manners and grasped her shoulders to turn her body away from him. He then placed hands on the back of her neck and began massaging her the knots of stress. Unlike a regular massage his version had a much improved effectiveness.

Jaina moaned in appreciation as Arthas's hands began to work away some of the tension that had been building through the night. She had seen him easily contain the glow into the hands that were massaging her neck, hands that were warm and full of soothing healing energy. After a few moments of relaxation she realised that what Arthas was doing to her was quite intimate. She reached up and stilled his soothing hands in their tracks before she turned back to face him.

"What are we doing, Arthas?" She asked gently. She wanted this, she knew it as certainly as she knew her name, but she didn't want to engage in something that they would never follow through on. She was his friend first and foremost and she had no intention of ruining that for a few stolen kisses.

Prince Arthas Menethil

Jaina's question worried him, was she having second thoughts about where this was leading? He realised that she was probably just as nervous as he was and needed some reassurance, the only thing that came to mind was to act naturally. He leaned in close to her ear.

"Oh comon Jaina you're not scared are you?" He taunted

"Scared?" Jaina chuckled "Of course not. I just know what you are like Arthas. I do not wish to become one of those flighty coquettes that you enjoy for a night and never return to."

She wasn't sure if Arthas knew that she was still a virgin, but she knew that he certainly wasn't. Despite her distaste for arranged marriage she knew how important her virginity was.

Prince Arthas Menethil

He felt a sudden shift in his gut, it was as if a life decision he'd never made was at the edge of fruition. He knew in his heart that she was more than just another random court girl but proving it to her would be a challenge. Jaina wouldn't fall for the usual flattery that he showered his usual conquest with. So he gave her the truth.

"You're right Jaina you're nothing like the girls I usually woo but that's what makes you so amazing. I don't need to put on the farse or do a song and dance to fill in the time. I feel like I can really be me when I'm with you, I value your opinion because what you say really means something to me." He placed his hand on her shoulder gently and allowed the warmth from before to flow through to her.

"Being me is like living life through an empty shell. Because of my status I don't have the luxury of being who I really am. The people expect a strong and confident leader, someone who doesn't falter at the sign of danger and rises to any challenge. To be honest I hate who I have to be, I hate what it makes me do but when we are here and alone the shell just falls away and I can be me again." He pulled his hand away from her shoulder reluctantly. Unlike usual he allowed his real emotions to show through a rare moment for him.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Jaina chewed the inside of her lip as she listened to Arthas' confession. He'd always had moments like this with her, and they were one of the things that she found to reinforce their friendship. He did always seem a little more vulnerable with her, at it was this vulnerability that showed another side to him. If he'd laughed off her concerns and made another jibe she would have known that she was at risk of being added to his line of conquests. This admission was encouraging though, a sign that she could be more than just another night of fun. That was what she wanted, and it was all that she knew she could ask for. She wouldn't ask for more than that either; she knew that commitments of love were limited at best and she wasn't hoping for a fairy tale, just love.

Her body had been rejuvinated when his hands touched her skin. She knew that his magic would be calming her, but she didn't resent him for that manipulation. She understood that this would be difficult for him, and it was his way of reassuring himself just as much as her. So, instead of going for the words which she was seeking, she decided to respond with an action she knew would understand.

Jaina leant forward slowly until her lips met with Arthas'. After a second of the chaste kiss she knew she wanted more. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders and pulled him closer to her as she deepened the kiss, her tongue sliding along his lips and begging entry.

Prince Arthas Menethil

Arthas was overwhelmed with joy at her acceptance of his true feelings. His hands roamed the length of the thin material that covered her body, if it were any other girl we would have removed the barrier to her nakedness but this time he wanted to fully appreciate the passionate kiss.

For the first time in his life he wanted a woman for more than just carnal sex. He allowed the power of the Holy light to flow through his body once again bathing them in a brilliant hue of golden light. He managed to pull away from their kiss for a brief moment to slip in a request.

"May I continue?" He asked motioning to the back of her neck.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Jaina felt Arthas's body relax against hers and his renewed light seeping into her pores. She felt his hands roam her body, exploring the curves and mounds with deliberate delight, and her body reacted to him as though it was what it was designed for all along. When he pulled away from their kiss she was already panting, on the verge of a moan from the passion of his explorations.

"Please," she breathed, looking into the deep oceans of his eyes. Please was as much politie permission as a searing request. She couldn't believe that their friendship hadn't led to this earlier, this path of rightness that made her feel as though the world was in it's proper order. She stayed still as she awaited his action, nervous about what was to follow despite her burgeoning eagerness.

Prince Arthas Menethil

Arthas guided Jaina onto her stomach so that her whole body was on the bed. He then continued his massage starting with her neck again making sure that all the knots had been taken care of. When he was satisfied with her neck his hands began to move slowly down toward the centre of her shoulder blades. After finding that her clothing was becoming a hinderance to his work he grasp the shoulder of her top and motioned for it to be removed.

"May I?" He asked. His voice sounding much deeper than he intended.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

Jaina allowed Arthas to lay her down on the bed with no physical resistance, but there was still a niggling part of her mind that was telling her that what she was doing was inappropriate. That thought was quickly silenced as his glowing hands started a long and soothing massage. His hands traveled over her neck and shoulders. It even felt good when their skin was seperated by a layer of clothing, though that apparently became too much for Arthas.

Willing to comply Jaina rolled to the side slightly and loosened the laces on her bodice. Once she had a bit of wriggle room she laid back on her stomach and slipped the shoulders of her dress down, freeing her neck, shoulders and upper back. She managed to keep a decent amount of fabric between her breasts and the bed, but she still felt a warm flush spread over her cheeks.

She looked back over her shoulder and gave Arthas a shy but encouraging smile.

"Since when do you ask for permission?" She teased.

Prince Arthas Menethil

Arthas return a genuine smile of his own.

"I always appreciate your permission, I have to act tough when everyone else is around but here I feel just like any man giving the woman he fancies a friendly massage."

Arthas continued his work making sure that each muscle he could reach was tended to. With the magic of holy light he didn't require any kind of massage lotion, he glided along her milky white skin taking note of each freckle and skin tone.

Eventually he reached a point where her clothes were hindering his advancement, luckily however this time he was able to slip underneath the garment to edge his way down her back even further. Her clothes shifted lower but were still being held by her body laying on the bed. By this point Arthas had managed to get midway down her back and was working his way up and down her sides.
