Curious about LW

I think the problem is that the category title is tongue-in-cheek, and many readers don't get the joke. If it were called "Unfaithful Wives," people who didn't want to read that would stay away. As it is, they feel misled and get enraged.

Personally, I write a LW story every so often when I get tired of my other stories not getting much feedback. A good red-meat feed-the-trolls LW story will get lots and lots of passionate responses. Mostly death threats, but hey, it's better than nothing, right?

The comments that I find the funniest are the ones telling a writer that they posted in the wrong category, and the story is about a loving husband and wife with no one else involved, and no domination or "evil" intent by either spouse. The commenters will say things like "this should be in Romance" or "this should be in Erotic Couplings".

It is about a LOVING WIFE, and you're telling us that LW is the wrong category. I see those and just shake my head and laugh.

Because the LW category description explicitly states extra-marital fun, I can understand someone saying a story without that element is in the wrong category. That doesn't make it a bad story, but maybe it should be in EC or romance.

Note fun, swinging and sharing and...****, fun, fun.

The intent was stories about adventurous couples who likes to bring others into the bedroom.

The cuck crowd showed up and it went from hubby loves watching his wife or sharing to hubby being humiliated mostly by the disgustingly racist stereo typed black bull-which further flames the real men because they are racist shit stains.

The sharing became cheating, the cheating lead to cries for revenge which gave birth to the BTB torture porn crowd.

I would agree with you, except that when they added the "& more" they opened LW up to all types of stories, not just the fun, happy ones.

THAT is where all of the trouble within LW began, right at the beginning before the first story was ever posted. And I believe that it was done on purpose to allow both the willing cuckold and consequence stories to be added, thus saving the trouble of adding two more categories.

Understand, I can see your point, and even agree with it, somewhat. But with the way LW was initially setup and allowing many different interpretations of the "& more" part of the description, what LW is, and has been, will continue indefinitely.

The story at the top of the LW hub right now, "Half a World Away," seems unusual for LW. It's romantic and well-written (though somewhat uniquely written) and the 28 comments as of the time of my reading are softly emotional and complimentary. One rude comments, but no trolls.

That's good to hear except we don't know if the author is the type to delete ride comments.

But its possible that between a title and a tag line, the trolls will leave it be because it may not feature the shit that gets them hard when they whine about it.

ETA I checked the tag line...wife of 38 years, they're skipping it because they don't want to read about 60 year olds

That being said, you seem to believe that at some unknown time in the past, the LW section of Lit only had Hot Wife stories. That there were no cuck or consequence stories in LW.

Well, I can't talk about the entire life of Lit, or the LW section, but I did find cheating stories posted in LW dated back to 2002 and 2003. Not with happy endings, not fun times, just heartbreak and consequences.

"How High a Price" by the Troubador was posted on 03/04/03. And that was not his first cheating wife story, though it is probably his most famous. "Wife Gets Caught" is another of his stories posted on 08/25/02.

Those are just two examples, from one writer, and I didn't try that hard to look. I would also wager to guess that a fan of cuckold stories could find classics that probably date as far back, if not farther.

So, for at least 14 years the "& more" part's intent has been shown to mean more than just fun.

I can appreciate, and do understand, how you want Hot Wife stories separated from the others in LW. Actually, I agree that the three major subgroups should be separate, but it will never happen, as Laurel has said many times, so the battles will continue to rage.

Let's just hope that the anonytrolls stay in LW, so that the other categories don't have to deal with it. Having one place for the anonytrolls is much preferred to having them spread. And this is coming from an LW reader who is tired of the trolls, but will continue to read LW because I like writers there and I will NOT be run off.

Stories like "Half a World Away" are unusual, but there are a few. The reason for the lack of trolls for the story is simply that there was no way to cause divisiveness among the readers of the story.

Looking at the comments, I saw btb fans, at least one writer of swinging/swapping, raac fans, and I'm pretty sure I saw a couple that are normally cuck fans. And most of them were complimentary to the story and writer. Because of that, the trolls won't come out, for then they become the targets and those cowards can't handle the heat.

The last point I made is by the nature of the category which is erotic and by the sites loose rules on torture porn, BTB stories should not be allowed. They are not sexual and if someone is getting sexual pleasure out of a woman having her nipples burned off( a real story here) or her lover having his dick sliced off, then that is torture for titillation and is not supposed to be allowed here.

Some BTB stories could give non-human and erotic horror a run for their money in violence, but again this is a category that is supposed to be sexy and erotic.

I thought the story might be more normal in Romance (and scored more highly), but those who commented seemed pretty happy to have it in LW. And then there's the 20,000+ views in a few hours--something that probably never happens in Romance.

You know many here of late, including Selq who is a newcomer has called out its time to get rid of anonymous. Now the site won't do that and why?

My guess is they think, well you force people to sign up you lose readership. That's not true. Its not true because you're not saying you have to have a handle to come read here, you need one to comment.

Posting a story about an actual loving wife in LW could be considered a standing joke in this forum. It may just be that a good story transcends, even on LW, and even if the storytelling is a little bumpy.

That's one problem there is with categories, often they are too narrow, too broad, or a story fits into more than one of them. Sounds like readers in LW would do better to search by tags.

Oh yeah, there is at least one. I know, I wrote it. It was one of my first stories and I posted it there before I realized what the category was all about.

ETA: It's not there anymore. I think Laurel moved it after someone complained it wasn't LW's material.

Maybe some day I'll lose my LW virginity. For the time being I'm pretty happy having it intact. There are other communities here that are more appealing, but probably none that give more feedback.

That story would either be the highest or lowest scoring story in LW history, and I wouldn't bet on either side. lol

LC has actually said it the best, it's the trolls that are the real problem in LW. The actual readers pretty much stay to what they like, except when new writers appear. And even then, there isn't too much trouble between the different groups of readers.

Probably a good idea. If you're comfortable where you're at, no sense messing it up by diving into LW.

It takes a special kind of crazy to deal with LW, both reading and especially writing. If you are not sure about writing there, you haven't reached that special crazy place yet. hehehe
