Events? what, where and how?

I have read the word "events" in a few other threads this last week or two. I did not want to high jack there threads to get more info. I felt it was better to make my own.

What are these events called?
What are these events like?
How do you find out about these events?
Where are these events held?

I would love to meet other people into similar things. It know some of the people in this forum are real, but a lot of what you find online are people pretending or just guys wanting to show off pictures. I would actually like to meet honest real people.

As the person above suggested, Fet Life would be the site to go to. Its kind of like a forum/old school reminiscent social media site (in my opinion) for fetishists and people who are into bdsm. It's free and a good way to connect online easily with people who have similar interests, no matter how obscure or specific, and allows you to find other individuals in your area as well as search for local events.
