What has that got to do with anything that anyone has said to you? Lady Cibelle was blowing off steam about the fact that there are a great many people who turn in stories to the Volunteer Editors that they haven't even bothered to run through a spell checker. These people then proceed to ignore good advice and insult and harass the people who've graciously volunteered their time. (NOTE TO MY AUTHORS - I'm not talking about any of you. I don't continue to work with people who prove themselves to be assholes.)

If you're not going to report it then why bring it up? Send the author an email and leave it alone. The only thing you've done by mentioning it here is to point out on the boards that somewhere in the vast multitude of stories here at Lit we've got something that violates the Literotica rules. Nobody knows where it is, nobody can do anything about it. How is that helpful to anyone. What is it that you want done?

Of course the assumption would be that if you brought it up there was a reason. Either to have someone in a position of authority get word to the author or to pull the story temporarily until changes could be made to bring it in line with Lit's age requirements. What was the point of mentioning it if you didn't want something done?

I've never head of that person before he/she titled one of his replies to something I said "Bitch" and seeing the way it's going I sure wish not to know them either.

Just my two cents here, but erotica is defined by the individual. You described what you believe erotica is to you. You most certainly have not described what erotica is to everyone else, and are completely incapable of doing so.

I'm not instigating any flames. I've made an observance and am attempting to correct an obvious error.

While looking to ancient Latin for word genealogy is often useful, I also prefer to utilize the online Encyclopedia Britanica for current definitions.

"erotica: literary or artistic works having an erotic theme; especially, books treating of sexual love in a sensuous or voluptuous manner. The word erotica typically applies to works in which the sexual element is regarded as part of the larger aesthetic aspect."

Also, in the word origin that you provided, Venus was the Goddess of sensual and sexual love. And both of those traits were obviously included in the root word origin that you were so quick to provide.

While not all of the stories and/or artwork on this site can easily be placed under the guise of being "erotica," the site itself does contain a tremendous amount of erotica in a wide variety of themes. There is no misleading in what the site claims to be about. The site simply does not exclude porn and/or smut in conjunction with the great amounts of erotica that it showcases.

Okey dokey, misunderstanding, then. What thread was your erotica argument in?

Pardon me if I'm telling you something you already know but generally it helps in communication on message boards to keep dialogues specific to only one thread --- or if one is moving to or from another to mention it in a post so that it doesn't confuse other participants.

e.g. "Poster TwitchyBritches mentioned to me in Thread ABC a tangential matter that I'd like to address in this Thread XYZ"

That way no one is trying to scroll back up through Thread XYZ looking for some post from TwitchyBritches about topic ABC that isn't there.

My assumption is that you posted your definition of erotica in another thread and you thought that Lady Cibelle's post here was in response to it. While that sort of thing will happen on message boards --- people scurrying about saying things in odd places that they for one reason or another choose not to address to someone personally --- unless you have a really good reason to believe that the poster in question is actually talking about you, the best first move is always to ask.

The reason for this is twofold. First, because in the event that you are mistaken, you haven't inadvertently started a flame war with someone who intended you no insult and to whom you also would not have intended abuse. Second, because in the event that you are not mistaken, it makes the person who went off and tattled about you in another thread rather than confront you face to face look like a total ass.

In either case the polite move is the winning move.


We've all made our social gaffes. Hang in there long enough and the regulars will beat you into shape. Promise. ;->

Okay, lets try again shall we? I would NEVER try to insult you or anyone taking medication for psychological, psychiatrical, neurological or whatever kind of medical illness one could suffer. Telling someone, you in that instance, to have his/her medication checked is my wiseass way to say "blow off some steam if you want but don't do it in my general vicinity if I'm not the target of your frustration." In this particular case YOU insulted me without even taking 2 seconds to ask yourself if I was targetting you or not.

If you had taken 30 seconds of your time you'd have seen what I mentionned in the message above and all this could have been avoided. I don't like to fight, ask anybody who knows me, but I will fight with everything I have if someone tramples on me just for the sake of it.

Absence due to illness

Hello friends,



Just a short note to let you all know that I’ll be taking a week off of editing starting today March 18th due to illness. Some of you will remember I complained that my right arm was painful and I had trouble using it….well it appears I have both a tennis elbow and a bursitis of the shoulder and the doctor recommended I take some time off from the computer to let my arm rest and see if it might not help lessen the pain as no pain medication is effective to me and the more time I spend on the computer, the more excruciating the pain in my arm gets. So I’ll listen to my doctor’s advice and will rest away from the computer for a week.



You can send mails and/or work my way if you wish as a few times a day I’ll sit in front of the computer and read my mails and stuff….if answers are required it’ll be my husband doing them for me so don’t hesitate to write if you need to.



I hope to be back to editing a week from today, March 25th, but if I can’t I’ll let you all know.

Y'know, LC rules this particular forum. She knows that more than enough has been said between you two. I'm hoping that you know that more than enough has been said btween you two. Now, there's far better conversations to be participating in all over this great big website. Move on to one or more of those and start enjoying yourself here rather than enguaging in a less than useful conversation like this one. Besides, LC is on the injured list for this next week at least. I think its pretty safe to say that one way or another you will not be getting any satisfaction from this thread.
