I've been posting stories, and in these forums since 2002, and in all that time, I've rarely lost my temper. I've had offensive comments, vindictive 1-bombs, stories I worked on really hard getting rejected for some petty reason, or get put into the wrong category.

I've waited weeks for some of them to get out of "pending" status.

Over the years i've corresponded with Laurel, always remaining calm and courtious, flattering her about how hard she must have to work, etc. etc.

But this week I finally snapped and wrote her a long PM. I didn't threaten to leave the site. I'm not that petulant. But I basically let her know how frustrated I am, in no uncertain terms.

I found that what I wrote was too long for a PM, so instead I posted it as a "story", with "notes to the admin" not to publish, but at least read it.

She clearly didn't, because, yes, you've guessed it, it got published today -- in "Letters and Transcripts" of all places.

I think it voices the gripes of a number of people here, so if you want to read what I wrote, the "story" is here:

AND the formatting got fucked up.

I've asked her to remove it. We'll see how long THAT takes.

2 ~ Shouldn't Humor & Satire trump here?

3 ~ Same thing happened with my Scooby-Doo fanfic, "If it weren't for those fucking kids!"

4 ~ How was Yilmaz not rejected for bestiality?

4 (again) ~ The other day at the mall, I slipped on something. I think it might belong to Millie.

I could use a good wrenching. Haven't had one lately.

I remember the days of "10 print "[whatever]", 20 goto 10". (We didn't call it Visual BASIC back then, though, or BASIC A or ERSO BASIC or GW BASIC. Just BASIC.) And drawing with CHR$ codes.

Her tits are on the tiny side if you want to weave that in

I learned fairly early on that threatening to leave the site has no effect at Literotica. There was a time when the two leading (by the most favorited list) writers here were being mercilessly harassed by a couple of posters (including the legendary Scouries) and they threatened to leave if the site didn't do in their harassers. Crickets from the site and the two prolific and popular authors left the site. The harassers went on to do even worse without being banned. One would think that, from a business promotional aspect, some effort would be made to retain the premier performers, but I learned early that that isn't done here.

Yup, Silk could leave tomorrow and they wouldn't care. Mostly because the vast majority of readers don't come to the boards and have no idea of what goes on here.

I wonder if all of Sk and DK's followers knew the reason they were leaving-and saw it-if the site would have lost some traffic.

Its too bad the people who have come here in the last five or so years who rave over and constantly defend the owner weren't around to see all of that.

The behavior over in the GB years ago was even worse, and that was her personally posting and starting it up.

Then they turned on her. Play stupid games, get stupid prizes.

I am honestly not sure how to take your post and story. To me, in its excessiveness and obvious sarcasm, it seems like a satire at the expense of many grievances authors have with the website. Some of those grievances might be petulant and childish, but some are very much legit, and you seem to be mocking all of them indiscriminately. Please correct me if I am wrong in the way I am taking your story, but if I am not, it all just seems like a humorous yet brownnosing gesture towards the website owners.

I don't have exact stats, but I could swear there's a correlation between dried tits and crappy nature. It's almost as if the lack of fat makes people churlish.

You actually read it? For some reason, I've lost interest after two paras. It seems to becoming a habit of mine with the regulars here. Odd.

I thought it was pretty damn funny. But, as expected, some people take you seriously, despite the obvious absurdity of most of it.
The thing about parody is there is always truth behind it. So, regardless of whether or not its penned tongue in cheek every grievance is legit, they just exaggerated it so people could take it as a joke, and therefore not bomb or attack him like the mob here usually does, but at the same time send a message.

Trust me, Mr. Doom, you're not as smart as you think, nor are other members as dumb as you think.

Once again, you write with no regard to anything I've actually written. You insist on a narrative that doesn't fit the facts.

I've complained plenty about the Site in the seven years I've been contributing year, and I've made lots of suggestions. The difference between me and some others is I don't think it's worth getting upset about if the Site doesn't respond to me. I don't care much. It doesn't prevent me, or others, from going on with the business of writing and publishing stories. It seems to drive you to distraction as a profound injustice that the Site isn't strictly, rigorously consistent in its application of content rules. I don't care an iota, even if I admit it's not consistent. I find that if you do your homework and pay attention you can generally work with the rules and be fairly confident about what will and what will not get published. It's not as much a mystery as some think it is. And in any event, it's just not worth getting upset about. There are many real injustices in life. Laurel's alleged "hypocrisy" is not one of them.

As far as bringing up what happened in the forum 8 years ago: who cares? That was 8 years ago. I have not seen that kind of behavior in this forum in the time I've been here, except from you and from a few others from time to time (you're one of the worst offenders at getting personally nasty, as you did in this post), and the Site has done a decent job in deleting vicious attacks made in this forum, including some made by you, and even going as far as banning people who go too far. So who cares what it was like 8 years ago? Things have changed since then, for the better.

You said this, which I completely agree with:

Mostly because the vast majority of readers don't come to the boards and have no idea of what goes on here.

That's exactly right. The readers don't care. And the Site's attitude is, as it should be, that they are going to maximize the experience for the readers, and to pay less attention to our "needs" as writers. Doesn't bother me at all. Writers come and go and it makes no difference to the Site or to the readers. I accept that and move on. Some keep gnashing their teeth over it, fruitlessly.

By the way, that story is a "satire," not a "parody."

Satire is never (just) about the humor.

No, there's always some truth to it, as there was to Dr. Strangelove, or even Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal.

But one can accept the truth of some of the criticisms and still poke fun at the silliness of the over-the-top way in which they are often expressed. I see that as what the story is doing.

Just because this statement is set down and not in response to the post itself, I've been itching to address this in terms of Amazon and other online book retailers as well as to Literotica and other sites.

Yes, these services tend to state strict submission guidance that they then slide off of in terms of practice. They do this for self-protection from watchdogs and the moral vigilantes. It's duplicitous, yes, but it's working in the favor of authors. Not all of what you produce will get published by these folks working under these guidelines, but they'll let some of it through if only because they don't have the staffing to read and absorb it all before deciding to publish it--but also because they only have the publicly declared guidance to keep some folks off their backs. That's reality. But it's a reality working in the favor of the writer--so I think the writer should think three times before getting straightlaced about a publishing service strictly following the guidelines it publicly announces. If Literotica is publishing something that you don't think fits the guidelines and that twists your knickers--just read something else.

Let me just say, I'm glad you finally saw the light and got waxed.

"I've posted many thousands of stories here, which is not an exaggeration, and EVERY FUCKING ONE OF THEM ends up with a score of 1.0 at best."

I don't know how to take this. I've seen your distress over AI rejections. But how can you get "1.0 at best?" We'd have to be able to rate less than 1. And you may have submitted thousands, but you've only got 11 published and they all have decent ratings.

So is this pure parody of complaining authors? If so, are your AI laments parody?????

Those were the days. I remember dumping out the code of the statistics program on a teletype machine hooked up to Dartmouth College where, I believe, they were inventing Basic. At the top was Dim 10. I had 20 instances of whatever I was analyzing. I re-typed Dim 20 and thus began my career in programming.
