About the "once upon a time..." and "they lived happily every after" thing ... remember you don't have to incorporate it into your story... you can just put "Once Upon A Time..." at the top... then start your story as you normally would. Happily ever after is optional

slyc_willie - Great job on your story. My only complaint was that it was too long and that's only because I only have time to sit in front of the computers a few minutes at a time so had to read it in three sittings.

It was strange. I never intended it to be that long, but that was just how the story came out. I remember being about halfway through, and looking down at the page count on my WP . . . 27 pages. Damn. I knew it was going to end up another long one. If I do Tin Soldier, I'll try to be less verbose.

I had the same idea with mine . . . the ending was the hardest part.
