I have a lot of friends who are water and fire signs who are into sexually deviant behaviour.I was wondering if it would be worth effort to posting a poll to see if this was just coincidence. Not that I am totally into astrology, just curious.If you know any other signifators on your chart that might be appropriate to mention.Would be funny if theres a lot of gemini switches out there, lol. I have 2 other friends who dom and they are earth signs.

Me= Aries/sub/ (sagitarius rising/ascendant)

master= Taurus/dom

Note too, above, a Gemini and a Virgo master/dom--- which might not fit a stereotypical sign description in those cases.

There are books out there for astrology and gay signs, maybe we need to write a BDSM version. In all things astrological it is not as simple as matching just the sun signs though.

And yes, Aries submissive here.

Each sign has it's own qualities and manner of manifestation. It would more productive (as Pure indicates) to look to the ways different Dom/me's would act from each sign than to try and designate a Dominant sign and/or a submissive sign. It simply doesn't operate that way.

My own chart is an excellent example, I have 6 fire signs, 4 , 1 water and No Earth. Taken on its face, this is an aggressive chart, very little in it would indicate submissiveness. Yet here I am.

What the chart DOES indicate is the type of sub I am, not whether or not I am a submissive. This would remain true for all others as well.

As to gay charts, while I think it is an interesting proposition to try and characterize certain aspects and placements as straight or gay, I wonder in the end how productive it is. Ultimately the chart is map of inclinations and flows of energy. In many ways without the designation of male and female, it would be hard to guess even the gender using just the chart alone.

In any event, yes there are Aries subs...

From what I have seen they are not so much gay charts as books which are written for the gay community to give indications of personality and compatible partners in a similar style to the mountains of hetero based books. Last time I was in Australia, I actually found one which was exclusively for those of us who are bisexual and have kicked myself ever since I did not have the cash on me to buy it and add to the collection of astrological reference books I already have. It was well written and covered a wealth of information. Such is life.

Actually there are quite a few of us Aries' subs... And yes I agree a lot can be gleaned from just the sun sign as far as quality and element.

Thank you for the clarification. I did have the wrong impression regarding the nature of the books.

I'll admit I have some strong opinions on 'blanket' interpretations, ie: All Venus Retrograde males are gay, All Mars retrograde females are gay (Just to name a few), because absolutes give an impression of Astrology that is inaccurate. In the end, such proclaimations do more harm to the art than good. (Although they do sell books)

But I *am* glad to see that there is work being done to expand basic intrepretations to include everyone, regardless of life choices.

It's also pretty unlikely that elements or qualities would link with dom, sub, fetish, gay, etc. For instance, if someone thinks 'cardinal' involves taking charge, leading etc., therefore is dominant, that would also be an error, as the Aries sub cases suggest.

Similarly if mutability and/or water were linked to impressionability, they'd seem to not to make for a good dom/me.
Yet there is no lack of Generals--e.g., George Washington, iirc-- who are Pisces.

Are you familiar with studies that tested whether the odd signs are more extroverted than the evens, i.e., that fire and air would be more extroverted that earth and water? No pattern was found *except among those that 'knew' about their signs. In other words, the Aries folks who 'know' what Aries in like do give
'extroverted' type answers to the test. I.e., it's possible they 'made themselves over' to fit what they took to be the description.

Here is another possibility, seen in my chart, possibly indicative with fetish: afflictions to Moon in respect of sign (and aspect). Harsh Moon/Venus aspects also.
