Your First Broken Bone

Other than a couple of skull fractures, my bones have held together.

*hugs*

satindesire, I hope you heal quickly. :(

*Snip*

Any prayers you send up for me, and any good positive healing energy you send my way is much appreciated. I know I'll mend up much faster with all those light-filled thoughts and love sent my way.

Thank you! <3 XOXO

going to have to include both as they were about the same time? I think? I was 3 or 4.

Greenstick fracture from going down the play slide at the day care center and trying to change my mind halfway down. I didn't notice anything was wrong until I went to shut my mom's car door after we got home and it hurt lol.

Broken collar bone either 3 months before or 3 months after, swinging between the couch and the coffee table and the couch cover slipped...that one I noticed plenty right away!

Oh...Shortly after that was a broken tail bone from sliding off the counter and catching the handle somewheres it shouldn'ta been Only mentioned because I vividly remember being forced to sleep semi suspended because they didn't want me on my stomach while the collar bone knit and unable to sleep on my back because of the tailbone.

fuck, just thinking about the orbital makes me cringe. Feel better.:rose:

Kittie presents are awesome. They're like "We never see them hunt. They must be hungry. Let's give them something to eat. Oh! A dead mouse sounds delicious. Yay!"

 Cats are hilarious.

Thank you, BTW. I am very doped up on pain killers and valium right now and find it very interesting seeing where my medicated mind is taking me on my thought paths. I should write down some of this shit so when I'm sober I can go..."WTF?!"

Yes, bird parts and mice are always nice. I'm sure you're going to have a good laugh a few days from now, but I don't think you're posting anything too strange.;)

It's no fun. When I cry I can't wipe my eyes. :(

I just teared up when I heard that. How upsetting - You poor thing.:rose:

I've never gotten birds before, but I've gotten rats, which are much scarier to me. I was terrified to pick it up should it wake up from it's comatose state and bite the shit out of me and I pick up some odd sewer-mutant disease that turns me into a nine-eyed four-legged freak of nature with three boobs ala "Total Recall". It didn't wake up because she had bitten through it's spinal cord with one crunchy squick-inducing munch. I heard the bones break. It was chilling.

Ehh, that was odd. I must be out of my head on these meds.

Weird enough for ya Pimmy? *dying laughing*

In any case, don't cry, Pim, or you'll make me cry!! Aw! *squeezes tight*

I'm pretty heavily medicated and loopy, but I got really curious to ask all of my Lit friends this question.

What was your first broken bone? How old were you, what was it, and how did you get it?

My first broken bone was when I was three. It was a greenstick fracture of my left forearm when my uncle picked me up by the wrists to put me in a grocery cart.

My second was my left orbital socket just below the middle of my eye, yesterday in my wreck.

So far that's it! Pretty lucky.

Never had a diagnosed break/fracture

but I am fairly certain I have had a few.

Oh Meggie! Hold me! LMAO

Now I'm tearing up because I'm laughing so hard!

I'm going to have to keep track of these posts for you. LOL

When I was 22, I broke the little finger or my right foot...

Was in a karate competition.

I 2004, I broke an arm skiing in Canada.

In the middle... some ribs (more karate) :D

A few cracks here and there. Broke my little finger once when I was 12 or so catching a football.

Fractured three ribs once, when I was um, busy in the bath.

Get better soon!

lol the bath is a dangerous place for me....I am forever injuring myself in it. Usually when I'm on my own though.

Oi!

Sorry to hear about your accident, SD. I hope your recovery is quick. I've broken my share of bones, and it's never a party. Sometimes it takes a while for the pain to really settle in...I hope you're past that point now.

I never broke a bone until I was seventeen, and since then it seems to happen fairly regularly. While bicycle racing I've gotten my collarbone, and another time a rib or two when I went over the handlebars and landed on somebody's pedal. Collarbone while playing soccer...that's how I got my nickname. Eight of my toes at different times, some of them more than once. Boxer's fracture of my right hand while white-water rafting. Elbow in a motorcycle accident.

Of course that's not including lacerations, abrasions, or joint injuries. Ah, memories.

J

ETA: This makes me sound a lot more interesting than I really am.

Ah, for your question: at 20 several wrist bones from playing indoor softball a bit too aggressively. Then many years later the scapula and the clavicle from a nasty bike fall. I came to understand the appeal of morphine from that last adventure.

Jamie, you and I sound like peas in a pod.

I've listed all my breaks and injuries some where on here before. If someone can find it, post it here for me. There are too many to list again. :)

Soccer's rough stuff, ehe?

Oh please do. I'm sure we'll find something interesting to tell my therapist in them.

I'm going back to sleep. Being on coma watch is no fun...they wake me up every 2 hours to make sure I'm not drooling my brains out.

Why do they only get concerned when you fall asleep?

I'm sorry honey! That sucks. You must be exhausted.:rose:

About 3 years ago, I was walking from the living room to the kitchen @ my parents' home. The vacuum cleaner was in my way-in plain sight-but I whacked my left foot on it anyway. I'm a klutz, so I thought nothing of it. When I got to work about an hour later, one of my toes hurt like hell, and was swelling rapidly. Eventually I went to the ER (I work in a hospital) and yes, it was broken. There are probably stupider ways to break a toe, but none come to mind right now. To date, it's my one and only broken bone.

Get better soon, sweets.:rose:

Yeah, I'm pretty tired. The worst part is getting up to get stuff to drink and go pee on my own when Sir's at work. That makes me the most tired. I think he said he gets home today at 3 tho-, so hopefully I won't have long to wait.

They've been feeding me medication, vitamins and food occasionally, but I'm not on my regular schedule so I have no idea what time it is or what day it is anymore. The bags under my eye (yeah, eye. No plural) are enough to carry a few pounds of groceries in.

On a fun side note, I don't think the gash on my eyebrow will scar very bad, the doc did a fantastic job stitching it! I think I'm gonna take some pictures of it today to remember what I look like now when I think I'm having a 'fat and ugly' day. :D

My first broken bone wasn't too long ago. I broke my toe badly enough that now it's crooked.

Huh. So, in the last year, I've got my first broken bone, had strep for the first time, pnemonia for the first time, been conscious during stitches for the first time, had my grandma die and me and K split up.

THIS YEAR SUCKS!!!

Sorry to hear about your accident satin. I hope the healing process flies by for you.

My first fx was when I was 12. I was roller skating, pretty run of the mill accident. It wasn't until the next day when I tried to pick something up and my wrist flopped backwards that I realized I didn't just sprain it. I have a nice little dent in my skull from learning the hard way not to swing from the brown vines. I've lost count of the number of times my little toes have been broken. How something so short can get in the way so many times is beyond me.

Other than that I'm a soft tissue damage kinda gal. My medical file is in volumes at various Dr's offices where I've lived. I'm currently in the witness protection program to hide from my orthopedic surgeon.

My childhood can be summed up pretty easy. A bit hyper+inquisitive+no fear=many trips to the DR. Thankfully it has tapered off to about one injury every other year or so lately.

I never had a broken bone yet.

I hope you will get well soon satin. :rose:

*hugs*

Sorry to hear this hon. I hope you heal quickly.

I have had two breaks. One on my left wrist when I was 11 in a skating accident.

And another in my left foot when I was 32 after a nasty fall.
