I'm pretty heavily medicated and loopy, but I got really curious to ask all of my Lit friends this question.

What was your first broken bone? How old were you, what was it, and how did you get it?

My first broken bone was when I was three. It was a greenstick fracture of my left forearm when my uncle picked me up by the wrists to put me in a grocery cart.

My second was my left orbital socket just below the middle of my eye, yesterday in my wreck.

So far that's it! Pretty lucky.

Mine was same as yours with the left eye just below the eye but also broke the nose and chipped a piece off of the eye socket just underneath the left eyebrow.

No other broken bones that I know of.

The only bone that I've broken, has been broken twice.

I have no memory of it but when I was about 18 mos old, I got my left big toe caught in the spokes of my tricycle and broke the toe.

In August of 1998, I had a ganglion cyst removed from that toe only to have it come back 6 weeks later. Turns out that the cyst was "growing" from the center of the first toe bone of that toe. The doctor actually shaved off layers of bone to try and get to the root of the cyst and debated actually just removing the top part of my big toe when they thought they'd removed too much for it to grow back.

That pain I remember.

Other than that, I've never broken a bone

During some very hard fucking an unfortunate accident happened where I slipped out and my weiner got bent whilst attempting to spear through her pubic bone.

OMG that wasn't the most pleasant thing.

i dont remember which was my first. ive broken boh wrists, one of em twice. my arm. my elbow. my collarbone. my ribs.

that happened to a friend of mine. Her husband had a penile "fracture" and she had a huge tear.. awful on both counts

We are of course going to need to see some pics of this new broken bone. I'm willing to bet that you have a hell of a black eye!

What was up with this car accident anyway? What happened? Is there another thread that I missed? Are you gonna be okay, full recovery? :(

I've never broken a bone, fingers crossed that I never will.

Oh I was nine and thought I saw a mouse. (just before we were to walk to school) I ran from my bedroom, down the stairs and as I was passing the basement door to reach the kitchen where my mother was, I smacked my left pinky finger on the door.

A better mouse story is how we had moved into a new house the week before 8th grade started (I was thirteen) - previous owners had an issue, but we had cats who seemed to have taken care of the problem rather quickly. I set out my clothes for the first day of school. Put my shoes just under the edge of my bed, hung my clothes over the back of my chair etc etc. It was all pretty uneventful until I went to put my shoes on. I couldn't seem to get my foot all the way into it, and it was confusing because the night before I had taken all of the paper out. Apparently one of my kitties was playing with a dead mouse and jammed it into the toe of my shoes. I gave my shoe a hard smack and it rolled out onto the floor.

I love it when my kitties leave me presents.

Get better soon girlfriend. Take care of yourself.:rose:

My only broken bone was when i was 11. i broke my tibia, the thicker of the two lower leg bones.

Happened when a bunch of us was running across a gravel laden playground and i was in flip flops. Well, they went flip, i went flop...then snap.

i remember looking down and seeing my skin peeled back, from where my leg had slid on the rocks, with blood everywhere; and right in the middle is my tibia sticking out of my leg.

Talk about someone screaming, and not for pleasure either!

My first broken bone was my left pinkie finger. I was either 13 or 14 when it happened. I remember like it was yesterday. I was at school during PE class. We had been playing basketball tournaments that week.

I ran to the half court line, one of the girls on my team threw as hard as she could (and she could throw hard) to me. It was a bit over my head so I had to jump to stop it from going out. Leaped up with my left hand farthest in the air; I hit it down, well more like it just hit my hand. Everyone thought I had just stoved it really bad. It was still black and blue a couple of days later so my mom took me to our family doctor. It was broke! It broke/shattered because it did get stoved up REALLY, REALLY bad.

Since then, I have had my index finger on my right hand broke (by playing basketball again) and my thumb on my left hand broke (by playing softball). If you couldn't tell, I was a little rough when it came to sports, LOL.

I break my toes on a fairly regular basis, hitting them on furniture legs and such. I have knobby-looking, misshapen toes from the breaks, LOL.

The only broken bone I've been to the doctor with, though, was when I broke my left hand falling off my horse back in 2003.

:rose: for satindesire. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

I tripped while running, fell on concrete and made a hairline fracture in my wrist when I was about 13. I hated doctors even then. It took three days of increasing pain before I agreed to go get checked out. I was staying with my grandparents for my summer visit of two weeks. I always looked forward to that time because they mostly left me alone and let me do what I wanted!

:D

Since then I've only broken some toes. I've been fairly lucky.

:rose:

I'm sorry to hear of your accident.

My first broken bone? Any one of my fingers- I've broken every bone in all of my fingers, my scafoid bone, a bunch of my toes, my ankle (twice), my wrist, my collarbone (which never healed), I've dislocated my right shoulder so many times I can do it on command now...

ETA- I have two cracked vertebrae.

12 yrs old, tailbone. was running on the always over-waxed linoleum in my socks, something i did all the time, but this particular time i fell and landed directly on my tailbone. to this day it was the most shocking pain of my life...the pain just vibrated all over and within me and sucked the air outta me, i could feel it in my teeth and down in my toes. the really crappy thing about it was that it happened in the summer, so i didn't even get to miss any school. :(

Kittie presents are awesome. They're like "We never see them hunt. They must be hungry. Let's give them something to eat. Oh! A dead mouse sounds delicious. Yay!"

 Cats are hilarious.

Thank you, BTW. I am very doped up on pain killers and valium right now and find it very interesting seeing where my medicated mind is taking me on my thought paths. I should write down some of this shit so when I'm sober I can go..."WTF?!"

Both bones of my left leg just above the ankle. Spiral fracture while skiing. I was... *does a rough calculation in his head* 31? Maybe 32.

I was coming down the intermediate slope at Ober Gatlinburg and had hit the lower area where it merges into the bunny slope... I swung wide to avoid a very novice skier (who was doing the arms flailing, hips wobbling, going to fall down at any moment dance) because I didn't want to accidentally plow them when they fell... I hit a mogul I didn't see and went airborne somehow, spinning like a top.

For you older folks, I was told I looked just like the skier who wiped out during the ABC Wide World of Sports opening sequence while they were saying "... the agony of defeat..."

While I was airborne, the back of my left ski planted into the snow, I continued to rotate, and both bones proceeded to say, in very clear, un mistakeable terms, "Fuck YOU!" Fortunately for me, right after the bones gave way, so did the boot release. Or I might have twisted the foot right off.

I'm not sure which hurt worse. Breaking the leg, or the Ski Patrol/Paramedics taking the boot off and setting the break. Believe it or not they set it clean when they did that. I was xrayed at the hospital in Sevierville (they get a LOT of practice with broken legs, go figure!) and they folks there said "Looks good!" and was given a temp cast... went to the orthopeadic specialist the following Monday, got xrayed again and he said "Looks like they did a good job, unless you want me to operate and put in plates and pins, let's let it heal." and I was given a more permanent cast. And except for brief periods (I'm talking 20 - 30 minutes each) for X-rays and a couple of re-castings as my leg healed, I stayed in a cast for 7 freaking months.

And to add insult to injury, I broke the pinkie toe on each foot while recovering from the broken leg... kicking table legs is not fun.

OH! While I'm thinking about it... I'd offer to kiss your pouty lips to make you feel better sd, but I think they might still be a little more tender than you'd want for that...

Get well soon hon { { { { GENTLEHUG } } } }

Oh papabear, you are too sweet. You can kiss me, just be gentle.

On second thought, kiss me roughly but hug me gently. How about that?

satindesire, I hope you heal quickly. :(

I've fractured my fingers and knuckles a number of times, and fractured a bone in my left forearm while trailriding on my bike. (rode the rest of the trail too =P ). No actual breaks.
