Starting date for me was December 15 2003
Original Weight 320
Current 220

Original pant size 50 present 35
Original Shirt size 3X present Medium to Large
Present age 54, soon to be 55

Started with the Adkins plan and lost about 60 pounds through 2004. Then while still on the Adkins continuing weight loss program I went back to the gym in February 2005. I did not want my continued weight loss to be dependant upon exercise but through diet control.

My work outs have varied over the last two years. At first I would visit the gym 5 days per week doing a 5 day split. Monday working the chest, Tuesday working the back, Wednesday working the legs, Thursday working the shoulders, Friday working the Arms. All days doing 20 minutes of cardio first.

The last month I have gone to mostly cardio, 30 minutes per day, then about 30 minutes of hard lifting. When I have time and fell like it I also visit the gym on Saturday.

My lifting routine has gone from mostly heavy low reps (3-6 reps) to lighter weights and high reps (10-20) with 3-5 sets of each exercise. I had to make the change because I tore my left shoulder rotator cuff last spring and that put me out of lifting game for two months. It not nice getting old.

Keep up the good work everyone. Remember patience, and this is a life time effort.

Keep up the good work intruder!

Well i was sitting on the couch the other day and my sister walks in and says completely randomly have you been losing weight and since she lives with me and sees me everyday that made me happy because its noticeable said my face is thinner too :)

i'll update with a new weight later today or tomorrow probably!

thought i'd share...

in july 2005 i was 93 kg and a full size 16AUS (do the conversions yourself - lol)
i decided i hated myself and was going to do something about it.

i cut out all white food - and i mean ALL! no potatoes, no rice, no anything white.
i also cut out all foods that combine wheat with a rising agent - no breads, cakes, etc. and all sweets including chocolate.
then i got rid of all my full-size crockery and bought little asian dishes.
this tricked me into thinking i was still having a full dish of food, whilst only eating half or less than i used to.

i lost 500g to 800g each week, and i never felt hungry or unsatisfied.

today i weigh in at 53.7kg, and i am a size 8AUS.

I reduce portions greatly but as busy as i normally am i haven't quit eating anything totally other then i almost never touch a soda anymore to much sugar.

i weighted in at a whopping 199 lbs today i'm so excited about my lose of weight if it continues at this pace i'll be the thin girl i've wanted to be for so long in no time.

OMG Tiff! That's GREAT!

I'm on a pretty scrawny frame - little wonder I choose to express my feminine side instead of my masculine one - and I have little business being over 145 lbs. I'd LOVE to get myself below that... once again, you're an inspiration. I'm so happy for you :)

Thank you for your support your a doll.

okay weighed myself in today i'm at 201lbs. I need to bust ass I want to lose 50lbs in the next 6 months or so. pray for me everyone I'm going to need it.

starting point: 5'10" 103kg / 227 lbs

I weigh on the 1st of each month and strictly not at any other time.

Have made few changes yet, slightly improved diet with some peas, an occasional slow stroll... haven't had the discipline to do better yet.

will be *devastated* if i can't lose 2kgs/ 4.5lbs per month, any slower would massively delay my starting on hormones.

the weight was gained due to steroids for asthma so it may come off on its own a bit over time

motivation can be a problem hun but you've got to remind yourself that your doing it so you can be what you've always wanted to be.

I took a weight training class at my college (required for my degree) and went from 245lbs to 229lbs. This was also about the time I got my job though. Since then I've noticed that I havent been eating as much, and my friend's mom even said that she could tell the difference, especially in my face (?). Anyway, I'm taking the class again. When I weighed myself on the first day, I still came in at 229! Even with the Cristmas season being between the two classes! I was so proud of myself. :D

Now that the baby's here, it's my turn to join in this thread. :)

Before delivery, I weighed in at 174lbs. My normal weight is around 123-125lbs. Once I go in for my six week checkup (six weeks since I delivered), I'll get to see where I'm at. I know I can't fit into any of my pants yet- I'm still wearing my early maternity pants. I'm breastfeeding too, and that will help in the weight loss.

My big obstacle will be exercise. Naturally, I get some just with the day to day caring fir the baby, but that's about it. At the moment, I can't do any weights just because I had pretty intense back labor, and my muscles are still healing. I had a 1 hour massage therapy session yesterday and even she couldn't get all the knots out!

I would like to get back to my pre-baby weight, but if I end up coming short. I won't be too upset.

Take it one day at a time, you can get to your goal.

30+ minutes a day on the treadmill and eating right i know i'll make it :)

i wish i had your discipline and committment *sobs*

its not about committment its about wanting to be a woman and an attractive one at that. Its my only motivating factor and as a result i'm getting it done. If you want it bad enough you'll get committed too.
