I hope your days today were good. Mine was.

Guess what I did?! I actually managed to make a pot of chilli and take it to my soccer party/awards thingy. It was (a) edible, (b) really good - people actually had seconds! and (c) no one has died yet from my cooking! But some of my friends are teasing me about where I bought it. And my coach says "I didn't know your mom was in town, you should have brought her tonight!" They seemed a bit sceptical when I told them I did it all by myself, thankyouverymuch....

I'd like to thank my soccer team, (I grabbed some leftover cooked burgers from the bbq on Sunday and used that for the meat so I wouldn't have to worry about undercooking it!) and my mother for her very explicit step by step instructions, and the inventor of the crock pot, which actually did the cooking for me....

And the party was fun, too. I got three awards, and only two were gag awards. I got the "crunch" player award, for keeping my head when the crunch was on. (that's the serious award). I also got "most creative use of duct tape" in the equipment mending category, and "most likely to take out an evil ref and make it look like an accident" award..

I'm pretty sure you're not an evil ref.. Y'see, the other day in the rain, the ref got between me and the person I was chasing (who had the ball). I tried to stop.. I really did, but there was about 8 inches of mud and I lost my feet and ended up sliding on my butt feet first into him and the ball.. He stands there and looks at me as I'm sliding about a hundred miles an hour and trying to grab anything to stop myself. All I get is two fistfuls of mud squishing out from between my fingers and I hit him. He didn't even try to move! And then he calls it a foul and boots me from the game.

And even if you were an evil ref, you're pretty smart.. If you saw a flying, sliding, chick in cleats sliding at you on her butt at a hundred miles an hour, you'd move, I think!

So I'm having a feirce internal debate.. I've starting my reading lists for next semester. I just finished "the Old Man and the Sea." and "Les Mis". Do I want to start reading "the Ethical Slut" (for human sexuality), " the Fountainhead" (for the political lit class) or "Grapes of Wrath" (just cause I wanna, I love that one!)..

Master has the flu so I have been head nurse....plus been having the runaround with welfare dept, not fun when you are sick...... Hoping to get things sorted next Friday, fingers crossed.......

I was having dinner with my eldest brother. Ironically enough, it's the the oldest one that I'm closest too. He's 14 years older than me. He's the one who became a monk. We talked lots about submission to God, and the Four Loves, and submission to another in love. Also,I let him drive my car. It was his car first, a bajillion or so years ago.

After which I went to the on base exchange
nothing
Their prices are higher on everything except
cigs and I no longer smoke

oh well

I wanted to ask the girl working the registar about whips and chains but she did not appear to be that freindly ...

Just read a large amount of this thread. A heartfelt Simper Fi to you.

Know what you mean about the VA and the exchange, 8 years marines. Left ankle shatered and was released from active duty. I can walk on it, but will never run again.

Dealing with the VA is like dealing with a Dom who ask you what your hard limits are, and then proceeds to break them repeatably over and over ensuring to prolong the agony of dealing with them for as long as they can. I would compare the VA to S&M, but I think even S&M has limits they wouldn't sink to, like the VA does.
