The "demonstrations" are EVERYWHERE in China. We're going to see how far the CCP is willing to go to save itself.

The CCP came out with it's own version of a vaccine that doesn't work at all. At the same time they vilified the Western vaccines as being dangerous in all sorts of ways. They backed themselves into a corner on this one. They have a population with virtually no immunity and can't use the Western vaccines without 'losing face.' So their only option is the 'zero Wuhan Flu' policy.

We have already seen how far they will go; and it isn't pretty. Look back to June of 1989.
And it is interesting that the Chinese vilified the Western vaccines as being "Dangerous." Many people on this forum actually spread this same kind of Chinese anti-vax propaganda on here; were they influenced by the Chinese web bots/forum bots here? Very possibly, at least, they were doing exactly what the Chinese government wanted them to.

One can hope. There will be problems along the way though. It took Taiwan 20 years after the Chiang Kai-shek regime went away to transition to a functioning democracy. The worst possible outcome if Xi falls would be a military dictatorship.

The people I know that were anti-vax were against it because it hadn't gone through the rigorous testing protocols, and time has shown that it is dangerous for some people, they just don't know the specific profile of those that shouldn't take the jab. All in all it's done more good than harm.

So I actually thought that for once, he made a fair point: That the original vaccine roll-out was not sufficiently tested and that made it risky for some people, and this is what led to some skepticism about the safety of the vaccine.

Whether that argument is valid or not, it certainly beats some of the crap that people posted on here: for example, one of the Rightguide screen names (I can't remember which one) posted some "Study" by some "Scientist" who claimed that EVERYONE who received the vaccine would be dead within 18 months (Which means, myself, and about 50 million other Americans, would probably be dead by now.)

The vaccine(s) were tested, and to the measure of the standard normally used when introducing something like this. HOwever steps were taken to vastly speed up the process. These steps included running initial trials in small groups,then rolling out larger initial trials with secondary trials at the same time etc. So to the uninformed or "easily lead conspiracy deniers etc" this new approval speed could only be the Governments doing.
