Warmest greetings to all you Authors' Hangout folks, and welcome to our new thread. This is especially for all of us who solve our problems, both major and minor, by asking ourselves, "What Would SubJoe Do?" We encourage all who live by this principle to share with others the heartwarming stories of how it has enriched your lives.

Just last week, I found myself in a terrible dilemma. I was flunking out of school, my boyfriend left me, I contracted a disgusting social disease, and my family disinherited me. When things seemed darkest, I thought of doing away with myself. In a moment of clarity, though, I thought, "What would SubJoe do?"

The path to salvation suddenly seemed clear to me. I a). kicked the cat, b). had several Absolut martinis c). took a nap, and d). moved to Baghdad. Now the future looks much brighter, and I can face my problems with a clarity and resolution. This all came from simply asking myself, "WWSJD?"

We welcome responses from others whose lives have been positively directed by asking ,"WWSJD?"

Well, I don't have a cat, so I have to borrow one, and I've upgraded to Chopin vodka (you've got to try it, MG, it's the best vodka I've ever had... by a mile), and well, that Baghdad thing is out of the question.

But other than those things, that's how I deal with the everyday problem that there is always a day.

SubJoe seems like an intelligent guy to me.

yes. got something against the french?

Doesn't everyone?

It's really heartwarming to see the outpouring of support from those who use WWSJD? as a guiding principle in their daily lives.

Now, if we could only hear from SubJoe, himself. He may be above such mundane matters, though, keeping himself on a ... higher level of ... awareness.

OK... I love my cat and don't want to kick her. I don't drink alcohol because I don't like the taste of it. I don't have enough money to go downtown, much less to Bagdad.

I could go with a nap, though.

No rules here

Dear Svenska,
Please don't get the idea that all answers to "WWSJD?" can be answered by kicking the cat, drinking, napping, and changing residence.

Think outside that envelope, dear. You can be sure that SJ does. Be creative.

Pointless, Grey Goose is damn good, but Chopin is better.

And, sirhugs, if it matters to you, Chopin is Polish.

Creative... OK... "I'll take a nap upon a canvas, surrounded by opened paint tubes."

Doesn't work for me

Tried it MG, sorry doesn't quite work for me.

Kicked the cat, he turned round and bit me, I tried to pretend it was an accident, but he saw through it.

Had several large Lagers. couldn't find anything else, fell asleep and woke with a hangover.

Made an effort to get to Bagdad but wasn't over keen on the parachute drop the other end so had to abandon that one.

Calling Sub_Joe, please put us out of our misery.

pops...........

You mean apart from look damnably cute with a wineglass in his hand?

*grin*

I don't know. I'm sworn off alcohol for two weeks on a detox.

*gets her wand out and grins*

Accio SubJoe!

I was pleased to see in Gq , in a Grey Goose ad, that Canadian Iceberg Vodka finished second in the tate test that Grey Goose won, out of 40 vodkas.

Since vodka is supposed to have no taste, is a vodka taste test an oxymoron?

polish?

I'm confused. Does the vodka taste like shoe polish? Was Frederick Chopin polish? Did Fred Chopin taste like shoe polish? Does Polish shoe polish taste like vodka? Did Freddie C polish his shoes with vodka.

Good Grief. I think I need a nap. WWSJD?

I bet he'd drink first, pass out second. Perhaps a taste test of all available vodka?

I kicked the cat. Unfortunately my cat is actually Satan herself, so she turned me into a frog.
I then tried to drink the vodka, but couldn't get the lid off without opposible thumbs.
In misery tried to move to Baghdad, but then don't allow you to import animals. Unfortunately that includes frogs.
Went home and had a nap. But the cat ate me.

WWSJD?

The Earl

PS. Smirnoff is the best vodka I've ever tasted. However I hate vodka so 'good' means that I taste it as little as possible.

Now the question is, where the hell is SubJoe?

He was last seen over on your other post about being published, I think he vanished back into his PC after that though.

in my semi humble opinion

smirnoff is not vodka. it's reasonably good rubbing alcohol. spend some money and get some good stuff. grey goose has barely any taste to it at all. it is great for mixed drinks.

sorry if that sounds like a bad ad for grey goose, but it can't be helped. it's the only vodka i've had so far that i could drink straight without wincing.

In my country, Smirnoff is a great ski-er from Kazakstan, who now lives in the north of Sweden.

Spirits of academia

This whole thing is merely academic to me. I'm not old enough to drink alcohol.

I bet that if SJ was too young to drink, like our dear little baby MathGirl, then he would get the same feeling of being drunk by running in tight circles for 15 minutes.

Well, I would ask myself "What would SubJoe do?" and I would answer "Well, I would ask myself 'What would SubJoe do?'"
