Writing Goal for the Day?

A six-winery crawl pretty much negated any hope of writing today. But I did finish drafting a novella in the wee hours of the morning, so taking the day off writing can be rationalized as celebrating completion of a manuscript.

No writing today -- taking the kids to the library this morning and then tonight a date with Mr Penn! :D

Well, sort of. We're heading into Philadelphia for the Marillion show at the Theater of Living Arts. I'm quite psyched, as Marillion hasn't toured since about 2004 (saw them then, too, at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC). We're going to South Street, have a nice dinner sans the miniPenns, and well, it should be nice.

Then up early the next day for the end of PennBoy's baseball season.

I'm very, very excited. For months I've been dealing with a medical problem that affected my brain and lungs and pretty much rendered me incapable of much but sitting on my ass, panting to catch my breath, and doing mindless things such as simple games and generic threading. I had to cancel all my writing jobs except a simple 300-word weekly column I do and even that was a chore at times. I scared the shit out of poor slave_. Diagnosis is done, therapy is started and I'm starting to feel myself again.
You bet I'm going to do some writing this weekend. No idea what yet, but so nice to have energy and alertness again.

The Nude day contest was my first contest here so I'm thinking something along those lines. We'll see.

Great NEWS there LF.

I might find some time to write in a few days, once this job settles down. The vacation was so worth it. I brought back a cage full of plot bunnies. Some of them actually happened. :D

Finishing the fourth of erotica short story books I'm working on (2 stories to go :) ) and work more on an upcoming novel.

Glad to hear you're getting some help, litfan! I had no idea. Feel better, and my best to slave_ as well! :rose:

I got a couple of pages added to one Nude Day story and a page added to another. A pretty good day so far.

Lunch and then back to writing.

Back home from a week at a cottage on the NY Finger Lakes. Lots of wineries and stuff, but I managed to write a novella--which is about half reviewed now. I'll get that off to the publisher on Monday, I hope. Then I need to wedge in another one by the end of June.

Well my goal is to crack through eight letters today. I have no idea if I'll get it done to be honest, 'cause I've only got one choc chip muffin left and no slavedriver with a whip at my back. But it's got to be done if I'm to get back to my regularly unscheduled story writing. :p

Of course even if I do get through those, I still have to write more. I think that's what's putting me off to be honest, the fact that there's no end in immediate sight. That said, I've had more than enough time and I have plenty time in the week to do the letters that I need to do. I just keep wasting what time I have playing games. In fact if I spent my gaming time doing writing, I'd have done many more pages of my stories.

And at the end of the day I can look back on this and guilt myself if I haven't done what I set out to do. Woohoo! *sarcasm*

Working on editing for someone, but I think I will have to draw it to a close today. I've edited for this person before and while the story is decent, they make the same errors all the time. I can't keep going over that.

Then I have feedback on Chs 10 and 11 on R&B so I can fix those up. Guess I'll have to wait for Ch 12 next weekend. Still -- almost done and ready to post. :)

I may have some time later today.

Wasted some time yesterday on the latest GhostRider movie. The first one was great but this one was rather dark and over done. The graphics were not on par with the first either.

Going to work on completing two flash scenes from the "Chat-Write-Whatever" thread. Seems that several people want me to FINISH THE DAMN STORIES!!

Today I want to get the reviewed "Constantinople" by Dirk Hessian back to the publisher and submit my Nude Day story here. If there's time, I'll start the background on my next pen name e-book that's already scheduled for late July launch.

Working on a retelling of my most recent story, but from the other character's pov and in third, not first person. Bit of an experiment actually - it feels completely different as a story.

I have missed posting on this which also means I haven't been writing that much either. I had two ideas slap me today, one a group FMF/FFM and one a first time MF, but I've yet to start them, ohh wait and one soft D/s with the woman being the D  we'll see how that goes (again). lol

And thanks for the bump!!

Steeped in writing a pen name mainstream mystery--and waiting for the m/m pen name I just wrote to come back from the editor.

Finished ch 16 and submitted it today. Took a look at how things were going and I'm blown away with how good the series is doing. Normally, I expect the scores and views to get less and less, the longer it gets, but it's doing the opposite, go figure. What started as a bit of fluff, turned into a monster, LMAO:D

Not to break your bubble, but long running series generally get higher and higher scores as they go.

This is due to the fact that the first couple of chapters get votes from people who are not sure about it or don;t like it and give lower votes. As the series progresses. you lose the "casual" readers and get down to your "core" audience. Therefore your votes get higher rather than lower.

Unless you do something nasty to one of the characters like I did a couple of times nd people react accordingly.

Taking a break from editing as I'm reaching that point where I think I am no longer "seeing" what I'm reading anymore.

Broke out the ratty old plot bunny note book and think I'm going to go with a simple little foot fetish story that has some light femdom in it.

I am doing some nasty things, but they were mentioned at the beginning what the couple were up to. From the comments, it's not so much the sex, but the relationship that's been developing and their friendship with a small group of women. Some chs. do better than others and the sex isn't as pronounced, as much as the interaction is.

I'm still figuring out the formulas that work, but it's nothing like what I started with. I had to go through my notes and delete entire chapters of notes, because they were no longer viable. Several chapters just 'happened' and they ended up being higher ranked than the ones I did notes on.

All this from a bit off fluff I wanted to write, because I needed to write some sex for practise again. I had no intentions of going more than 5 chs., now it's on to ch 17 and 25 chs of notes. This to me says, readers want sex that's spank-worthy, but it has to have a good story behind it as well to work.
