Why I failed to write today.

The fishing was good. Limited in 2 hours. Wonderful afternoon. Twenty minutes from home.

5,000 words written to Dirk Hessian's "Constantinople" today on top of watching what there was of the men's final at the French Tennis Open and putting on the dog at an expensive resort hotel restaurant for dinner. A cruise on Seneca Lake tomorrow, but hopes are high for at least half of another chapter written.

I think I did it! Last night, somewhere around midnight, after watching Julie Taymor's "Across the Universe," I believe I finished R&B. Draft mode, of course, but I did it! Can't post yet -- my beta reader can't look it over until next weekend, but that leaves me lots of time to second-guess myself and tweak things.

I'm going to try and edit at least half of that chapter for my fellow author. Don't know if I'll get it done or not...

And then a second one, cuz I finally submitted a new story last night! It's a short story I'm calling Alejandro's Song; a romance with a little bit of Dom/sub play. I put it in Romance cuz I don't think it's hardcore enough for BDSM.

Now I'm trying to find my groove for that much requested sequel to HTSL.

Plenty of things in the queue, both original and stories that need fixing. Not sure what to do next. Although with Game of Thrones and the Stanley Cup Finals over, I'm hoping I get more writing time.

I submitted a story last night. It's short and sweet, and hot (so says the great estragon).

I have had a lot of kids milling about and a lot on my mind emotionally so my muse is showing up in spurts. I have an audio story to do, but that's really hard with the kids about, so I may have to wait till August, when they go back to school. Which is fine. It'll be done way before Survivor is over.

Part 3 of the novel is in editing and then I'll need to wrap it up. It's drawing to the end as well. Then I'll decide what I want to do with it in regards to publication.

I think it may be time to write a romance story for the romance category.

With luck I'll finish writing the next-to-last chapter of Dirk Hessian's Contstantinople today. Other than a movie, it's a down day, as choppy water and an all-day rainstorm have descended on Seneca Lake. Yesterday out on the lake in the Schooner featured in Grace Kelly's last movie, High Society, was very nice indeed--so only 2,000 words written yesterday. Did fit in a visit to the (standalone, octagonal) study where Mark Twain wrote most of his books and "getting-bloato" visits to wineries.

Submitted my first incest story since Christmas, last night. I always try to do something a little different and for this one I decided to add a little "reality" to the story.

When the mother discovers her son is fantasizing about having sex with her she....Throws his ass in counseling!

Of course she ends up seeing the error of her ways or there wouldn't be a damn story now would there be?

I'll regret it in the morning (because I have to be up at 0730), but I stayed up til 2 am and finished drafting Dirk Hessian's GM novella, "Constantinople." Now, if I'm able to think at all when we get home from the next New York Finger Lakes country winery run tomorrow, I'll start formating and reviewing it.

No writing but I feel so much better. Sun, surf, white sand, no internet or cell phone signal. So nice.
