Why do those certain ones irritate you??

There ya go.

The ones that sometimes hit close to the truth are the ones that we react to. Or the ones that run counter to our own self-image.

The ole' ego jumps right in.

Being called ladylike, might piss me off!:D

Actually I have a pretty thick skin, it takes a lot to piss me off. Although BC does know what buttons to push!

because most of them are right.. lol (I'm not easy, and I'm not a slut).. people hate having their faults pointed out..

I used to think being pissed off was better than being pissed on... But I could have been wrong...
Really, I don't care what u call me, it's how u treat me that counts...

ahhh...that goes right in line with what Ishmael said.

So, if people use certain adjectives to describe us...we relate to them through our egos? bruised or non?

Damn, I'm glad you said that and not me. :D

If I said something like that, it's start a flame fest. ;)

If someone were to call you

ladylike?
cute?
sweet?
aggressive?
assertive?
naive?
girlish?
boyish?
feminine?
ignorant?
sexy?
arrogant?

Why is it that some adjectives get the hairs on the back of our necks rising while others are taken in stride?

Most of these don't bother me, although when I'm working it pisses me off when I'm given pet names like, babydoll, dollface, little lady, baby girl, sugar, et al. by suits and execs. who couldn't remember my name if I had just told them 30 sec before.

It's not always the 'name', but the mouth it comes out of that hurts.....

*He blush's * Thank you Bratcat, it is just so very true. Words are words and nothing more, it's the delivery that cuts us!

I'd be bothered by....

Cute in reference to my penis. I'd LAUGH, not be seriously offended, but still. Cute always seems to equate to small. :p

Hmm. Self-indulgent, pampered... those would bug me. Don't have much money at all, to the second one. To the first, I do my best to keep everyone in mind.

Those are the biggies. :p I don't mind being called feminine or... much of anything, to be sure.

ladylike?

Yep.

Nah. Well, that's not true. Cute like Meg Ryan of Jason Biggs, yeah; cute like a yellow lab, nah.

You betcha.

aggressive?

Hell no!

assertive?

That's just what people who like you call you when they mean agressive.

Not applicable :)

Opening up that can of whoop ass...

Sounds like a social disease...

feminine?

Ass kickings for everyone...

ignorant?

This is usually the refuge of the truly idiotic. Ever notice that you're only accused of being ignorantg when you can actually defend your point well enough to make someone understand why you think some way? Reminds me of the old adage, "I'd rather keep my mouth shut and let you suspect that I'm an idiot than to open my mouth and confirm it."

You mean I'm not?

arrogant?

I'm not arrogant - they're just usually stupid :)

I tend to go with the flow, letting words roll off of me like water off of a duck's back.

I am not easily offended.

Just easily amused and

aroused. ;)

It depends on the person, time and place
"Bitch" can make me angry or "hotter than Georgia asphalt"

Out of your list, naive, girlish and ignorant would piss me off. Of course, it does depend what it is the person in question is referring to.
