Yay, we won :nana: Although it was a match that dragged -we lost momentum after that there goal -but we hung on to it, so thats a good thing :nana:

I'm chastened to say I actually watched some of the second half. There are two versions on US tv, the English version, where the commentators know very little about football, and are very pedestrian in their comments, and the Spanish station.........I didn't understand a word they said, but they were so animated in their commentary, and at least they could pronounce Paraguay correctly!

I watched the match between Poland and Ecuador yesterday on ESPN2. They had an Irish and and English announcer that seemed to be okay. I notice ABC has American announcers, so maybe you'll have better luck with ESPN? Just a thought...

ABC was the 'English' one I started watching. Lacklustre commentary, and I'm not sure they even know what they're commenting on.

I'm just sorry I missed the GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL on the Spanish station. It would have been worth it, just for that. :D

Underdogs performing admirably: T&T utterly cockkblocking Sweeden despite hosing themselves with overzealousness early in the game. They may turn out to be the unexpected fucker-upper of Group B. Even more so if they manage to make something of their counterattacks in future games. Teams that take them lightly may end up handing them a trip to the next round.

A fair result.

Sweden played like a bunch of second division fucktards 80% of the game. Which is not surprising. They tend to either play perfectly, or suck like you wouldn't believe. And when they finally raised the bar in the very end, TnT fought like the warriors they call themselves.

Kudos to TnT. Especially to the keeper who did a heroic job.

I must say that I'm not impressed with any team in the group. England was ok at best and won on a random goal, Paraguay was shaky all the way through, we Swedes suuuuuck, and TnT are only a threat against a team that suuuuucks.

So there's still hope. Kind of.

Yeapp .. that pretty much sums it up. I thought the Swedes would wipe the floor with T'n'T but couldn't capitalize on any chances. Right now advancing in group B is pretty much up for grabs ... although I'd say England and Sweden will make in the end.

Argentina - Ivory Coast just ended a couple of minutes ago. And boy what a great game ... I picked Argentina winning 4-0 but Ivory Coast hung on and were a threat the whole game. Too bad they lost ... they would have deserved a draw at least.

Exactly as I predicted. In my office we wager on the whole tournament. Everybody pays 20 Euros, picks the results for every game and gets points if he/she is right ... the one with the most points in the end gets 50% of the jackpot :D. After this game I am leading :D

Australia 3 - Japan 1

4. CAHILL Tim (84') 10. NAKAMURA Shunsuke (26')

Note: Hope this works for your office pool CrazyyAngel!

That has to be one of the most incomprehensible and secret-handshake comments I've ever read.

Explain, please. :D

My hubby's not best pleased about it, and you both probably realise why, EL and Mat.

(For those of you who don't know: he's half Japanese).

His loyalties aren't really split, and if it came down to an England - Japan match, he knows which side his bread's buttered on. :D
