Without faith, you are dead

True or faulse?

If the above statement is true, I - a Godless man - do not live.

1 - Will getting a girlfriend named Faith compensate for my lacu of faith?

2 - Should I post a poll?

Never lose faith. He's all around guiding us every second of every day.

Satan that is.

The statement is true.

Getting a girlfriend would not change it

Why are you "a godless man"

I do not belive in metaphysics.

I wouldn't say you were dead if you have no faith, but I would say you are hopeless if you can't perceive anything beyond that which is tangible. Faith is merely being able to see that which is not evident. A hard-on is...in a way...a gesture of faith:D

You must have faith. You must believe in a god.

Otherwise you have only yourself to blame if things go wrong.

If you don't have a god, CV, you can't make sacrifices to your god, therefore you can't have scapegoats and have to accept personal responsibility for your own actions- in fact for yourself entirely.

Much easier to have a god.

With or without faith we are going to die. The faithful will die. The heathans will die. This is why the journey is so important. If faith is your road then take it. If faith is not your road then take the other road. Whichever road you take remember Robert Frost's wisdom: , "I took the road less traveled and that has made all the difference."

I don't have to believe in anything I don't have a belief in. As for placing blame on someone else, I only do that if it is actually someone elses fault for whatever occurred. However, if I am the one that messed something up, I accept it, deal with it and move on...

As for faith, I have all the faith I need. It doesn't matter what I believe in.

Believer or unbeliever.

With or without faith.

In the end the worms always win.

faithlessness and godlessness doesn't have to mean the same thing.

Exactly. :)

Even those who don't believe in a God at all have faith.

In what?.

themselves and/or whatever else they truly believe in. that quote can be taken a couple of different ways, it doesnt necessarily have to mean faith in god, or any other higher power.

Mundane things.

for isntance, when I plop down in a chair, I have faith that the chair won't break and dump my ass on the floor. That faith is what allows me to flop down in the chair instead of sitting in every chair gingerly.

I have had chairs break under me before. It shook my faith in chairs slightly, to the point where when encountering chairs like the one that had broken before, I checked them to make sure they weren't didn't have problems.

Faith isn't a big mystical thing. It's a simple belief that things will work the way they should. You can't predict that this will always happen, but you can't live your life based on the off-chance that things will always go wrong. That's faith. :)

Though this is a biblical quote, it doesn't have ot have spiritual ramifications:

"Faith is the substance of thigns hoped for; the evidence of thigns not seen."
