One debate is townhall format. The rest are neo-TV-traditional. Obama will have a podium, but he won't have a teleprompter.

Obama without TelePrompTer is like a car without gas.
It just gets better. Obama goes on Letterman and 'splains his lipsitck/pig quip. He's fucking cluless.

Here's Obama without a teleprompter:

Well Im glad Obama was asked a question that didnt "exceed his pay grade". Come on now they both have moments when they looked caught off gaurd.
they both sorta have those "Chipmunk Cheeks" don't they?
Enjoy it while it lasts.
Yesterday was the best numbers you'll see from McCain in this election. It's all down hill from here. He's already started giving back his bounce.
I agree. As soon as the buzz from the selection of Palin as VP wears off, it's all down hill. Particularly if they let her open her mouth too often.
I would also like to add, choosing her was a great political move, as much as I disagree with her politics. She's the only hope McCain has.
The perennial flaw of Democrats in national elections is to underestimate the appeal Republican candidates have with voters.
Too bad McCain wasn't there with him 'splaining his lipstick/pig comment from '07. Squeeeeal like a pig, baby. McCain got bitchslapped (not Palin) and why are we too stupid to pick this up? McCain certainly can't be too senile for it. Can he?

Just today at work a woman said, "You know, I really like Sarah Palin, but I just can't vote for her because she's running with such a right wing conservative."
The first problem is that, obviously, Palin is running with McCain, not the other way around. The presidential candidate is far more important than the vice presidential candidate. Secondly, Palin is much, much, much farther to the right than McCain is and anyone paying any attention knows that. The problem is, of course, most people are not paying attention. Sarah Palin was picked to play to people's ignorance.
Picking a woman makes McCain look progressive and she very much appeals to middle aged women who might hate her politics, but remain thankfully unaware of them. She also appeals to the radical right, who is paying attention to her politics. Picking her was a gamble rooted firmly in the ignorance of the American public, and it will pay off. It may not give McCain the election, but it's as much of a boost as he is going to get.
I agree with you, though. The Democrats should point out the obvious flaws in her policies and political record and let her hang herself at the debates. Nothing more.
McCain will win the election, not based on Palin's politics, but on a gut-level, perhaps uninformed, decision of which vision of "change" in Washington politics might mean more to their pocketbooks. To many ordinary Americans, Palin's politics are not out of line at all. Many Americans do, indeed, cling to Bibles, guns, and have a mistrust of people offering vague notions of utopia supported by a "trust me" presentation of hope, backed by snarkish misrepresentations and pseudo-intellectual elitist snobbery. As I have said for quite some time, Obama can’t win if he (they) continue to fight a Starbucks campaign in an election that will be decided at Dairy Queen.
But only one of them claims to be perfect.

I love how the right can predict the future...
Can you give me tomorrow's winning lottery numbers while you're at it?
Why sure, r_d.
But first ,you must accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Muahahahahahahaha....
That is all. Over.

The perennial flaw of Democrats in national elections is to underestimate the appeal Republican candidates have with voters. The country is center-right-center now, and presuming that it is looking for substantive change -- other than that change that will affect their pocketbook -- is an often repeated error. The smart move was to ignore Palin and dismiss her as a party-unity drone designed to get some Hillary votes. But the zealots had to turn her into a star. Not that great an idea.
Johnson beat the shit out of Goldwater with a single word: "Extremist." After that, they just ran some scare ads on TV and nobody paid any attention to the man. Had they gone to Arizona and sniffed out every nasty detail of his private life, try to convince people that he was Satan, that he fucked little boys, ate afterbirth for breakfast, etc., the election might have been contested. When you want something to go away, ignore it.
I've been saying that for about ten days in way too many words, but the typing is good for hands so often broken...
