I've been sitting here thinking of a way to commemorate what happened on September 11th last year.

In Denmark some people have a tradition to put lit candle in the windows on the night it was announced that World War 2 was over. Back in 1945 people did it to celebrate that the black out curtains weren’t going to be needed any more. In fact many people yanked the curtains out, and burned them on a big bonfire in the streets.

So I’ve been thinking I’ll be lighting a light for all those people that were killed on that day last year, to honor their memory.

Have you planned to do something special?

I've heard of many different things people will be doing on 9/11. wearing red, white, and blue....driving with your lights on during the day....turning the ouside light on the house on all day..... at noon e.st. saying the pledge of allegiance....observing a 9 min. 11 sec. moment of silence........I can't think of the others as of this moment. I'll post them when I do. I think it's great that you, in Denmark, will be observing the day as well.

I, for one, will be having my post op appointment on Sept.11. woohoo? Other then that, I'll have my light on, burn a candle, wear red, white, and blue, and simply observe a solemn day of rememberence.

I'll treat it like memorial day and the fourth of july.... a balance of remembrance and happiness

I'm going to let everybody know to let the eagle soar! I will be busy always remembering not forgetting! I will also be desecrating the flag in a number of ways and calling it patriotic ("Hey Buddy, a true patriot wears american flag speedos because the corporations told us to after 9/11").

TERRORISM! TERRORISM! T-E-R-R-O-R-I-S-M!! Aaaugghh! Let teh Eagle soar!

I just pray to God that it will be a day without incidence. God forbid there be another attack. I think most of us are afraid of that. :(

Yes I hope so as well. I heard in the news today that the police in Germany had managed to prevent a muslim man and his american girlfriend from placing some bombs in and around American bases there.

My friend has gone on holidays and has lent me his collection of DvDs, so im having my own movie marathon. Doesn't matter if I miss the Sept 11th coverage, I can always watch it next year, of the year after, or the year after that.

Anyway expect to hear these words followed by pauses althroughout the coverages:

Shock-ing
Terror-fying
Scare
Death
Destruction
Hero-ism

..and many more clinches.

remember a lot, cry a little, a special meditation, and go about my day with quiet pride and dignity as usual.

I see, so a sensitive, caring type of human being? NOT

I really doubt I will do anyhting out of the normal routine. Yes, it is awful it happened. I truly feel for the families that lost their loved ones but it shouldn't be a holiday that years from now people will be throwing parties and celebrating because they don't have to go to work.
