for me, i can't rewatch Sophie's Choice or Schindler's List.... too harrowing

hallmark stuff that celebrates stupidity (especially in women)

Gangs of London... too realistic in its portrayal of true violence

any of that Baby BooBoo/pageantry kind of stuff... hate what it does to kids' thinking

a lot of stuff from the 50's to, say, 70's, where racism and sexism was its makeup... makes me too cross

now i can watch operations, zombies, all manner of stuff like that; people having their skin sliced open and fingers rummage about to extract cysts and lumps? not a problem. But i can NOT watch stuff on eyeballs or toes. I just can't!

what makes you draw the line?

The Andy Griffith/Leave it to Beaver, etc. crap. Has nothing to do with the racism because I was too young to understand it before I made up my mind that they were just boring as fuck.

And MASH. My dad had the VHS boxset.

"comedies" from the 1980s. It seems like an entire decade devoid of actual humor. There are a few exceptions, like Ghostbusters but for the most part... terrible. Just truly awful.

There's a scene or two in Black Swan where the main character, played by the always hot Natalie Portman, pulls at the skin around her finger nails which made me queasy and I had to leave the screen.

Golf, bowling, and car racing. I'm just not interested in these sports.

Reality competition shows of any kind.

Televangelists

It's the same with me. I can't watch anything with kids in jeopardy. There's a classic Studio Ghibli animated film "Grave of the Fireflies". It's supposed to be amazing, but I've never made it past the first 15 minutes without breaking down into ugly sobs. I'm tearing up a little just typing this post.

a lot of adult cartoons. most of the time it just sounds like nails on a chalk board to me. i love cop shows and investigations. those can get gruesome. i don't like the sounds of lots of bullets and people arguing. some of that comes with lots of good shows. it's the excess of it. i used to stomach more, but not so much now.

I can't stand Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.

I appreciate the cultural impact that it has, however, I find the whole movie just stupid.

I was hanging out with a neighbor and he started watching that series on the Sex Pistols. There's a scene dealing with a child and his stepfather. I can't say on here, it was a sick scene. After that, I wanted to throw up and take a shower.

At least Law & Order SVU doesn't show that sick stuff.

I watched King Lear with Anthony Hopkins that featured eyeballs being removed with Regan's fingernail ... that was surprising. They did the one, then had a chat, then did the other one o_O <- he looked like that afterwards

I don't watch anything at all. The box has been turned on maybe three times in five years just to see if it still works, and then only for a few minutes at a time.

I like the newer, Johnny Depp version better; as his Willy Wonka is both weird, creepy, slightly insane, and whimsical at the same time, which made him cooler.

But I can't stand all this "Dancing with the Masked Bachelorette who's got Talent" kind of crap. Every time one of those shows comes on I change the channel to watch, pretty much anything else.

I absolutely agree with you on that.

All this "Reality TV" shit, has completely dumbed down the population.

Comic book/universe moviesā€¦ I just cannot conjure up the slightest bit of interest.

Just about 99.9% of all the BS that is on TV, whether it's the main broadcast channels (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) or any of the cable channels or even streaming. I find so much of it to be so untrue that it is not believable or so stupid as to not to bother with it.

I rarely ever turn on the TV. I'd much rather read a book.

Same for going to the movies. So many remakes and so many sequels that it seems as though no one knows how to make any original movies anymore.

More like what can I watch šŸ˜‚

I can't stand embarrassing things - not even 5min of Mr Bean. Also rules out a lot of romantic comedies. Cruelty, usually. Injustice. Too much suspense. Too much stupidity.

Anything with child actors, can't stand them - and most of the rest.
