A woman in distress will find 50 men falling all over themselves to help her. A man in distress is all on his own - if he's lucky. (How many women have you ever seen swarm a guy's car to fix his flat tire?)

Because men are not allowed to protest injustice against men, but women are allowed to protest injustice against women.

I knew a man who had been taught his whole life you never hit a lady. So when his wife was mental and beat on him he wouldn't even defend himself. She was about the same size as him and strong. With the stigma there was really no place for him to go for help. That has got to change. It's not right for anyone to be hit, male or female.

We have the picture in our heads of the old damsels in distress who needed rescuing and the knight who took care of everything. That's not true. It's only in the fairy tales. People, male and female, are going through a lot these days. We all need each other. If it did happen it would be ideal.

Sure, context is everything. My son was smacked by his stepmother when he was 16 years old. He's been taught all his life hitting (of any kind) was wrong.

These threads remind me of Cade's or Busybody's threads lamenting the lack of White advocacy groups.

No doubt there are incidents of racism against Whites just as no doubt there are incidents of sexism against men. And no doubt racism and sexism should not be accepted, regardless of race and regardless of gender.

But to suggest Whites are systemically disadvantaged in America is ludicrous. Ditto males.

In one recently reported case, a couple separated soon after their child was born.
The father paid massive amounts of child support for over ten years, despite only being given access to his child once or twice a year during that time.
He took the mother to court for more regular access, and the court ordered DNA testing as part of it's disclosure.
The child turned out not to be his.
He then asked the court to order the return of almost $300,000 in child support and was awarded just $25,000.

In no way can anyone see this outcome as fair.

Men need an advocacy/support network for situation such as this. Currently, they have nothing.
Did I mention that he also had to pay all the court costs?

There are already laws against violence that apply equally to both men and women.
The only thing needed there is for men to begin standing up for their right not to be beaten, just like women do.

And let's not forget, it was the patriarchal societal norm to allow women to be used and abused for so long.

Just because women finally made a stand, you want to use that as an excuse for men who see it as 'weak' to use the existing laws to protect themselves against violence from women?
Like I said, change the attitude about being all manly and shit. The laws are in place.
