Laurel, did you remove the posts in question, and were you asked to do so, or was this your desicion? Why were the posts removed? Are there ramifications of this action that other users should be aware of?

Why? It's a public domain. Most of the shit that goes on this board is private, yet everyone spreads out and examines it and has their petty comments, till the subject is exhasted. Why is this different?

My posts were deleted at my request. I went through and hand deleted a great number of them. I was tired, I was sick of doing it, and I asked for some help.

The reasoning behind this was clear for me. It may seem paranoid, it may seem ridiculous and futile, but it gave me peace of mind.

I have been threatened on this board numerous times by a poster who threatens many. He has learned to veil these threats and even last night he launched an attack on me that was covert and no one realized what he was saying. Not only has he made these threats, due to the fact that I have one major troll who has been trolling me for months, he was able to get a picture that I posted before he ever came to this website. I take full responsibility for putting my picture out on this site. But, this action did make me feel violated. The ignorant cunt who gave this picture to him is still amongst you all. If I can make you think anything, remember that a poster among you who is probably as sweet as sugar to many of you, can be a complete backstabbing bitch.

I felt it was necessary to remove any and all information about myself from this site. There are wackos out there. Even though I haven't told a lot - I have told enough that was scattered through almost 15,000 posts to incriminate myself.

I needed to ensure that all of this information was deleted for my peace of mind now and in the future.

I apologize that this has become drama. I have learned a valuable lesson - that even the slightest information that you provide can make you feel vulnerable.

Having trolls sucks. Having serious trolls sucks SERIOUSLY.

If someone is determined enough, as Lavy found out, they can find stuff and put the pieces together. It's pretty sad and pathetic that he spent that much time sifting through that many posts though. It gives you an idea of how sad his life truly it. He should be pitied.
 
This may be a public forum, but we post under a guise. We revel in our anonimity, saying things we think, but would never share with most of our RL. When someone takes that anonimity from us, we are violated, and threatened. This holds true no matter what your situation, becuase I garantee that pretty much every one of you has said something, or acted in such a way that would be unacceptable if you were to do it off-line.

Oh, and Laurel rocketh.
