Why do people have to flavor themselves?

I was just reading all those "flavor" topics. It seems to me we all have more in common then different. Perhaps that is why some insist on labels? I like VWs but it doesn't make me a car. I think the reason people object to the labels used in these discussions is that it is not accurate. To each person their sexuality is just that , theirs. My only objection to alternative lifestyles is when people are harmed. I have made that clear in countless discussions. I am a person whose passion has been to relieve pain and mend the human body. It has been difficult to understand why someone would like to be in pain. Having done more research on the brain I understand it better. It is not something I would espouse but okay if you like it ............ I do admit I cringe when I see the things people do for fun or pleasure sometimes. I stay away from threads which feature extreme piercings and bondage and appreciate when they are labeled as such.

I have adapted my thinking to refer to bsmd interested people as "alphabet" loving. I would really appreciate others to refer to me as "non alphabet". I think this would be the better way to go. What do you think?

All of our needs and desires are different, regardless of labels.

While it is wonderful to have a forum where people can speak so openly about their sexuality, no one should be judged, demeaned or even lauded because their sexuality.

Respect is earned and given outside of sexuality. Respect is something that our most vocal persons on this topic have from me, and it seems they respect each other, differences aside. That is as it should be.

my two cents...

Damn. I try so hard to stay out of these things ! :)

I've got two flavors. Ball and Salt, but that ain't the point. The point that I wanna make is that flavors are natural. Its those artificial nasties that just ain't good for the soul. Be the flavor you wanna be, and let the artificials do their own shit.

Non Alphabet

Is is kinda weird to understand why pain in a "sexual" setting for some people feels good.

The pain I have this morning has everything to do with my stupidity of over consuming last night. Ginger can you just rub my temples please?

:D

There's that Ms Smartie Pants again

Nahhhh Ginger is a taste explosion:D :D

Timmy, I have just the thing for you. All you need is a long hot bath with some lavender scented water and then a nice lemonade with a shot of gingerbrandy and a touch of bitters. Now if only the fed ex people would deliver on New Years.

The bath sounds really good ...but I think my wife would think I was nuts. I know for sure ....that a glass of water betwen drinks keeps the "big head" away. Now why didn't I remember that last night?

i'm going for the rainbow sherbert

How many people feel that pain and sex simply do not mix, yet have ever been spanked or have spanked?
Or secretly fantasize about it?

Where does one draw the line?

And what if you are a domme in your female relationships and a sub in your male relationships?

And how do we begin to separate the swallowing from the non~swallowing people with a label?

“You are abnormal because you don’t swallow like I do.”

How could a person call somebody abnormal for expressing their right in their own human body?
(rapists and pedophiles exempt from this statement)

Everyone has diversions…so why judge anybody else?

I feel like I'm in a starburst commercial, maybe skittles? Taste the rainbow... MMmmm.... I like the implications of that one.

Flavors can easily translate into colors both of which have mental images associated with them. Take cherry which some would call red which has political meaning. What I am saying is that vanilla denotes white or bland sex. But to who is it bland? That is why I advance the idea of non alphabet vs alphabet sex interests. It is innocuous and so should be more acceptable to everyone. What do you think? I think it works. How about you?

Gingersnap, that's just not going to work for me. You want me to think about sex whenever I say alphabet.

And are we talking about the traditional alphabet or the new way to do the alphabet?

Printed or Cursive?

Manuscript, Zaner-Bloser, or D'Neilian?

Those are just the handwriting fonts, somebody is going to bring in all the different varieties of word processing fonts and somebone is going to be offended for sure.

Nope, alphabets just aren't going to work.

why are you so agains bsdm and bondage??? For you it may not make sense but to many people it does. To each their own.

Wont work. Someone will be labled non-alphabet who likes alphabet soup and will be offended.

Inventing lables....how quaint the american way in action. Try the label "human", it will fit most except KR.

Kinky Kandy would you please read the thread before commenting. I am just saying that people get offended at labels such as vanilla sex which implies bland or uninteresting. I was merely suggesting an alternative. One that would be less offensive to everyone. Obviously it is important to the alternative lifestyle to preserve these sterotypes regarding people not involved in the practice of bdsm. Good luck to all.

Vanilla sex is great. But then, again, vanilla has nothing at all to do with sex.
