Who does home projects?

actually WE painted our hallway..and our bedroom..and the computer room and the bathroom dark colors because despite allegedly making small rooms look bright and happy and airy.. light colors make me want to puke.. so.. we went with jewel tones that matched our artwork around the house

I swear, I'm gonna buy me some chocolate shoes. Then my foot will taste better.*sigh*

Well, I bet it'll look good with the light colors.

Maybe it will..thank god I wont have to live in it to find out

Well, also, if you had things on the walls I bet that it looked better than just unrelieved dark colors. I've been surprised - my cousin painted her dining room a dark red, but with the mirrors and stuff on the walls it looked awesome.

we had a handmade crest shield, several pieces of medival themed art and a large picture of this, "A Meeting on the Turret Stairs" in this beautiful cherry frame because our friend Nessa said that every time she saw this painting, it reminded her of Malin and I..

That's an awesome picture. I don't have a lot of art, mostly cause of money restrictions, but if I did it would either be stuff like that or unicorns. I'm a unicorn junkie, most of the 'pretties' I buy have unicorns. But not the cutsie, cartoony stuff. The stuff that looks like it could be real.

we werent allowed to take pictures of it, but when Malin and I were in scotland last year, they were hand weaving the tapestries of the unicorn hunt..

that's the style of art we have. well except in our computer room.. :D

Oooooooh, covet. Sometime I'll take some pictures of the artwork we have that I like.

The only project I've done so far is trying to make this building look and feel like a home.
Its taken a lot of hard work (I ache!) but I think I have achieved it. Well at least I think I have...when I asked my D he seemed a bit indifferent or he just didn't notice! lol :( I felt so proud of myself too!

Ok, good idea.

I will, post the "making of" of "Two tables for two Princesses." LOL

Right now, this table by Thomas Moser is the closest to the design that I have in mind. I'm going to visit their Chicago store soon to examine how the leg structure is built. That's really the only truly challenging part of the process.

I bought a house about a year ago for a dirt cheap price, awesome location (1.5 blocks from the catholic school, 5 blocks from the public, across the street from the curling rink, arena, swimming pool and library)

It had a huge lot, the realtor said the price of the house was really just the lot that was being paid for, the house was just a bonus.

Well, the house needed a new roof. We jacked up a truss that was making the whole thing sag and patched it, knowing it was a temporary fix, but at least it wouldn't fall down over the course of the winter.

2 weeks back we decided to start gutting the interior in preparation for renovating it and adding a basement and addition. After discovering the outer walls consisted of rotten through wood (stick a hammer easily through the boards, wave it around and presto, huge assed hole)

We have decided to rip the whole house down, dig the basement and put up a 2 storey house instead. Thank god we moved into one of our other properties first!

Well, I was working on putting in a water sprinkling zone in this neat breen area at the front of my lot by the sidewalk. It's all raised and walled. Has some trees and stuff in it and grass. All dry as a bone. I got five sprinklers in and then decided to flush my trucks radiator. Viola, I twisted off the drain plug.

So my project for the evening was putting all the parts back on my Fiero so I can drive it to work this week. I had it running, just needed to take it to the car wash and wash the engine, put the engine compartment lid back on and re-install all of the heat shielding. I'd already done a lot of work to fix a rat eaten wiring harness and blown out exhaust header gasket. It required a pretty in depth disassembly to get to all of the stuff I needed to get to. :(

My poor hands are getting all rough and leathery on the palms.
