This thread raised some thoughts and questions for me, that were inspired by the How did you become known on the boards? thread.

Who are you and WHY have you been hiding in 'lurk mode'???

Many lurk. i'm certain they all have their own reasons. Whether those reasons are warranted or not are for them to decide. It is a bit ironic that, if those who lurk, stay in lurk, rather than posting, they'll never know whether their choice to stay hidden is the best choice, or not. Perhaps they should post and let us know they are with us?

Then there are the 'part time' lurkers. They post for a bit. Then we rarely hear from them again, if at all. Perhaps they could post here now and then to let us know they are still with us?

This is the thread for lurkers.
Please come out come out where ever you are, and the rest of us will promise not to bite, ridicule, humiliate or insult .... (unless you prefer that sort of thing).

Personally, I am just waiting to make my grand entrance. Or..not. A lot of times I just don't feel that I have anything much to add. I don't get to play too much right now. I have a Dom I play with occasionally,but that's a fairly new development.
I had been looking at the board for years, but very recently got up enough courage to make my first post. I think it will take awhile for me to ease into it... But, expect to hear more from me in the future

I lurk here (and on several other boards) but don't post because I am secretly convinced that one day I'm going to be president, and I don't want my campaign derailed by some enterprising young journalist that decides to look up my internet history. Then I'll be, like, 50, and have to defend a bunch of stuff I wrote when I was 23.
Not that I wouldn't want to be associated with you all, since you seem like lovely people. I'm just not going to risk my political career for you, dammit!

Besides... do you think i would leave you in trust of all the extra cookies i baked just for this occasion, without having already arranged for a shitload of them to be put aside just for you??

i'll have you know, these are special cookies. They have been magically laced with a yuletide of never ending, non-tamperable ability of duplicity. Everytime a lurker eats one, 6 more appear in your cache!! Be forewarned though ... don't eat them all at once, the magic yeast was a bit stronger than i had planned on ... you'll get a horrible case of gas. Phew..... ick. Besides, they will only duplicate if you give them away ... one at a time.

Now I just lurk mostly, but old friends and new have been drawing me back in. Someone remarked the other day that they missed me scaring people with stories about fireplay though. We haven't done that for a while, so he'll probably do it again soon.

I lurk, because most of the threads here are really private conversations (or flame wars) between a couple people. Or they have so many posts, that there isn't any point to them anymore.
