I mentioned in the travel thread that I miss using German and should at least try to read and write it sometimes, even if I don't ever really speak or listen to it. I've already revived my German once during my adult years and I'd hate to lose it again.
So here's a thread for all of us who'd like to practice German regardless of the level or fluency, and also for those who already know German really well or maybe are native speakers and would like to help us learners get some practice. We could talk about food, music, travel, or whatever you wish to.
Mixing English and German is perfectly fine. Mistakes won't be laughed at (unless you ask us to, I suppose, in the spirit of some language-based humiliation games, which I now realize might be something I need in my life
). Even if you use just a little German, it's good and helpful and will reinforce what you've learned before or what you're learning now.
Herzlich willkommen zu unserem Stammtisch!
(Mods, if a bilingual or mostly German thread like this isn't ok here in the Cafe, please let me know!)
