Where are you

That's it! I'm moving to Portugal.

Need a roommate, Lauren? (or at least a neighbor?)

You know my policy about neighbours, but I'd make an exception for you. ;)

Congrats on the big 7500, sweetie! How shall we celebrate, neighbor?

An extensive Google search turned up no pictures of my house. Not one!

I did find a picture of the Fairchild Garden, home of the Mango Festival.

:D

And Google provided this list of "Coconut Grove FL Services." I was hoping for a carpenter and maybe an electrician...

Fairchild Tropical Garden, where the Mango Festival is held in June. See that puddle? That's juice. Mangos are messy.

:p

This is Vizcaya, the John Deering estate, which used to have gondolas to take guests into Coral Gables on the canal to play golf at the Biltmore Hotel. Nothing like that has happened to me here at the Decaying Jungle Compound, but the monsoons are coming so hope springs eternal etc.

This is not my house and it's not in Coconut Grove. My house is sort of a cross between this and Vizcaya (see previous).

Maybe 12% Vizcaya, 88% this place. But without mountains. And with more neighbors, and a Honda out front. You get the idea.

People say Miami is a hostile place. We're hot blooded, yes. But there are random acts of kindness.

This bird at Fairchild Garden is helping this frog cross a stream:

Come on down! I could use some new neighbors.

The man next door wouldn't let the realtor show the bedroom closet when he was trying to sell his place. Then he set the bedroom on fire with some chemicals or something.

Their pit bulldog, Pumpkin used to bark constantly. The wife told me Pumpkin "had a near-death experience when she was a puppy" and "has some issues."

Block party? I'll mull that over.

:p
